Playboy announced that starting in the Feb 2015 issue of the printed magazine there will be no more nudity. Personally i think the reason for this is spot on.
Playboy was created to help women express themselves freely and openly. Hef was a major proponent for women's rights. When the publication launched it was a huge shock to society as it gave women a voice targeted directly to men. This was on of the first instances of print media that was tasteful artistic and not porn that featured women in the nude or scantily clad. I think it is interesting that they have decided that the tides have changed enough and are pulling back. I think this a really cool step for Playboy and i am very interested to see where the publication goes from here. I would love to hear what other people think. Was Hef a champion for women's rights in a super conservative time in america's history , or was it all just porn? I lean towards that Hef saw he completed the mission of allowing women an outlet to express themselves freely and that the times have change America is becoming more progressive and such an outlet is no longer a necessity for society.
My 2 cents love to hear yours
