[Aug 31, 2013] Play The Original MMO with [TAB] - Ultima Online (UO)

So I wanted to offer this event for those who have never tried this game and need a little inspiration to try it.

Install and you are good to go.

I will help you all get started and even make a new character with you. It should be a ton of fun!

And for those of you who know the game have a bit of nostalgia!

UO is the best with friends so what better way then with [TAB] playing together.

Learn what MMO's these days started from and then see where this game still exceeds modern MMO's in robust features. See how crude it is for today's graphical standards but how the "suspension of disbelief" made it so damn addicting when it was released.

After we hit the Newbie dungeons I will port all the players to the tavern in the Town I help run for a cold one! Learn was it was like to have no General chat and only /say!
 
UO has been on my todo list. If I don't end up hitting the bars in celebration for my new job, I'll be here :)
 
I went to the UO Forever site and downloaded the link for the full client. Then download finished, but when I click the file to open it, nothing happens.

It decompresses RAR files. A Rar file is the same as a ZIP file. But computer geeks use it more because it is better at compression than WinZip.

=)

Then you can right click and select 7Zip, then decompress.

WinRar will also unzip it but you have to pay for WinRar.

Remember to RSVP. If I see 0 RSVPS I will assume no one is coming and probably not show up myself.

Also try to install prior to the day so we can get any kinks out now :)
 
I"ll try installing again tonite. If I'm successful I'll RSVP.

I'm not sure the game will be up my alley, but I do want to give it a look at least.

I will try again to install tonight but my school blocks the updater so I'll see if I can find a work around.

Edit* works now nvm
 
I would love to join, but sadly I'm not at home, so I can't use my home computer. I do have my mac laptop, but I don't think can play from it. I also have to get to the beircade around 5pm, so I'm not sure if I'd have enough time to join if I could. I hope all you guys manage to get in and have some fun!
