What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
Casual/Social (F&F) would be my primary position in the guild. I am currently working as a designer while completing my Masters and PhD. To add insult to injury, I also reside in Perth, Australia. I will be online primarily during off-peak hours and would love to join a welcoming community that not only incorporates casual players, but embraces them.
I've always been a huge fan of PvP and have always pushed myself to succeed in its upper echelons. Small group / organised skirmishes have always been a personal favourite. The ability to progress and succeed based on your own schedule has always worked well for me.
That is not to say that PvE / Raiding is something I completely avoid. I love a stable sense of community and being around people who not only enjoy what they are doing, but are passionate about what they do. Being able to come home from work or university and finding yourself surrounded by positive energy is a great way to enjoy an MMO.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Diablo 2 + 3: On and Off for 10 years
Star Wars Galaxies: 2 years pre CU.
City of Heroes / Villains: 1 year.
World of Warcraft: 6 years.
Warhammer Online: 1 year.
Rift: 1 year.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I've always managed to find myself being part of a clan/guild regardless of the game. The social aspect of a closed community is how an MMO should be played.
My most prominent experience with a guild would have been with ThatOneGuy in Word of Warcraft. I experienced everything from being a raider, to a section leader. to a raid / guild leader. I progressed from the bottom of the PvP barrel to the literal top, while experiencing a slew of drama that would put Bradgelina to shame.
Looking back, the most prominent moments are enhanced greatly by the people you are gaming with. I have been fortunate enough to forge some great friendships with people I have met both online and in person. I'm hoping to join a community with that same quality of people.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I heard about the guild through ThatOneGuy via an ex-guild forum that we are both still active on. I followed a few of your podcasts which ultimately led me to the decision of rolling a Mesmer.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I have always been a very dedicated player. Don't let the casual tag fool you. I push whatever class I play to it's bitter limits, and love experimenting with interesting new playstyles.
I'm helpful when possible, outgoing, and love grouping up to do anything. I love chatting over voice-comm and getting to know new people.
With this application being for a F&F position (for an oceanic timezone), I don't expect to be part of any primary raid or PvP groups. I am however ready to help out in any way possible. Even if it does just involve chatting to other oceanic players and night owls at 3am+.
I have an interesting sense of humour and am unusually entertained by simple multiplayer flash games. Don't be surprised if you find yourself in an intense game of connect-4 against me at some obscure hour of the night.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Yes
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
