Favorite Classic Board/Card Game

Had a moment of mind wandering earlier today, and just had a thought of "Man, when was the last time I played a game of chess?" and "I could go for a game of Backgammon right about now." Also talked about Cribbage earlier this week to some people on mumble.

What are some CLASSIC board/card games that you haven't played in a while? Would anyone be interested in playing Backgammon? Because I could really go for some games right about now.

It would have to be the Settler of Catan. I would only ever play it when I would see my Uncle which made it special and I always enjoyed playing it. If not that, I would have to go with Balderdash, because who doesn't love a game about creating the most believable lie.

On a side note, I don't think I have ever played a full length legit game of Risk. I have gone through a whole game of monopoly though.

When I read the header, I was thinking more Chutes N' Ladders. However, I really dig Chess and would love to play more often. I just discovered Chess with Friends and have a few games running on my phone.

Now I'm reminiscing that I don't think I've ever played a full game of honest Monopoly.

I actually just had a game night last night with Corvus, and a few other friends. We rock the Firefly Board Game. It eats a lot of time, but its fun. I also play cards a lot at work to pass the time. We usually stick to variants of Rummy and this awesome game called Golf.

As for favorite game of all time, I would have to say Risk but the Firefly game is a close second.

Mousetrap, for the reason of setting it up and watching the trap go off. I can't say I've ever actually played a full game of it. Then of course building real estate empires on Monopoly!

I really love to play scrabble and also various card games (Schafkopfen, 66, Mau Mau, Arschloch). People hate to play with me, because I have too much luck in all games. Seriously.

Yup, I loved the throw down 3-4 cards at the same time. I was a master at it. (Not against the rules)
