BOSTON (TheBlaze/AP) — Authorities are investigating a report of two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
There were two booms heard from near the finish line inside the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel.
“It happened around 2:45 p.m. outside Marathon Sports on Boylston Street, according to WBZ-TV’s Lisa Hughes, who was near the scene covering the marathon,” WBZ-TV reports.
There were two “incredibly powerful explosions just seconds apart,” Hughes said.
Some people were reportedly missing limbs while others had blood on their heads. Race officials locked down the hotel because of the report.

It gets worse:

I'm confused, the last picture is just a close-up (and lower quality) of the first picture, yet it's apparently "even worse?" Is there something I'm missing?

Fuck Fuck fuck, calling my sisters, just saw this...she was running today.

EDIT: My sisters are ok, just talked to them.

This is horrible, without question. But my analyst brain is incredibly relieved there weren't secondaries to hit the first responders - it could have been even worse. Hopefully they were able to save as many as possible. My prayers to the dead, the injured, and their loved ones.

Oh god yeah.
It's amazing in the first video seeing everyone just kinda sitting around and then it's like SHIT THIS FENCE NEEDS TO GO and it goes.

Let me just say... I am not a religious man, but something was really looking over me and Mike last night. We were on our way home after the sox game, which requires us to take the Green Line on the MBTA from Fenway, then transition onto the Blue Line to Wonderland (where I parked). When we arrived to the Green Line, Mike wasn't feeling too hot. We stayed on a park bench at the station and let two trains go by. We hopped on the third one and carried on as usual. We were then stopped one stop prior to where our train swapping would be. That transition is right below Boylston street. The two trains prior to our train were actually impacted by the two explosions. Me and Mike could have been in the blast radius if we had caught either of those first two trains. We were instead on the third train and only had to endure some walking to the next station, not even knowing why we were kicked off of the trains to begin with...

There was a lot of confusion where I was at. The trains don't just shut down. We all just started to assume that there was something happening with the marathon, but never anticipated what actually happened. I was only a few blocks away from the incident, but didn't even realize what was going on. Then word started to spread. People started to be in a bit of shock. Me and Mike instantly stepped aside to check in at home. His mother was calling my phone to make sure he was alright. I called Caroline and then call my mother just to let everyone know I was ok and that somehow, we weren't near the bomb site. We were lucky.
