Do you have any friends in the guild? If so, who?
Not as of yet, but hoping to meet some cool people and build some new friendships. From what I have seen reading the forums and the viewing the podcasts Arcanix has a great group!

Main Character
Hi my name is Spankyfloyd...and I am an altaholic. Due to my altaholicism the plan is to have one member of each race to inluding multiple professions. Why not, right?!

Spankyfloyd

Asura

Profession(Class)
Elementalist or Necromancer

What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I generally look to balance both PvE and PvP, as I enjoy experiencing all aspects of a game. In WoW for instance I did a great deal of both.

When I wasn't raiding, doing dailies, or farming mats and creating consumables for the guild, I was PvP'ing. I logged quite a bit of time in the battlegrounds, arena, and was always down for a good old raid on a Horde city or town. Many of my guildies, including myself, created twinks at the 39 level bracket and had some epic battles in WSG and AB with feuding Horde guilds.

If accpeted into Arcanix, this is what I plan to do. I'm excited about all aspects of Guild Wars 2 - from SPvP and WvW to the dyanmic events dungeons. I'm sure I'll be having a lot of fun with the crafting system as well. I'm one of those guys that loves a good grind...if you know what I mean. Heck, I grinded out the Winterspring Frostsaber in WoW. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and like maxing out all of my skills/abilities. I enjoy traveling around farming and gathering mats for crafting gear and other useful items for the guild. I just kick back, pop a Guinness, turn on the Sox game, and farm away! Whats even better is the Guild Wars 2 system promotes groups of guldies to go out and explore/farm together as they can tap the same nodes without it depleting! I'd totally tap that with you!

Although I'm not that big into RP, I've been known to dabble both in game and in private life.

I really enojoy the teamwork aspect of MMO's. I'm a very social player and enjoy chatting it up on Mumble/TS/Vent, meeting new people, and making new friends. I'm always glad to group up and help out. For some reason I am unable say "no." Unfortunately, this has got me into some minor/major jams in my life, but for the most part has worked out for the better. Although I can be competitive and do like to play to win from time to time, I'm always out to have a good time. Grouping up and having fun is what it's all about!

Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
MMO's
WoW - Vanilla through WotLK (6 years or so)
Rift (6 months)
SWTOR (6 months)

Online (PC/Console)
MOH Series (PC)
BF2/BF3 (PC)
COD Series (Console)
Halo series (Console)

Moving from console gaming to PC, my first real MMO was WoW. I had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool people. I experienced a great deal of content from the vanilla raids through WotLK, gearing up along the way. Eventually everthing became too routine. I just wasn't excited to log in and play anymore. Raiding and dailies felt like a part time job. Way too serious for me. The PvP system, in my mind, was not what it once was. Unfortunately for me it just became...well...boring.

After quitting WoW I moved back to console gaming as there really wasn't another MMO that appealed to me. I've had a lot of fun with Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, and Skyrim, among others.

I've mainly been waiting for the next big MMO to arrive. After a brief stint playing Rift, I thought SWTOR was going to be the "it." I had been a fan of the Knights of the Old Republic series and, upon playing the Mass Effect series, a big Bioware fan. There seemed to be a lot of build-up over this game. I had fun with this game for a few months, both PvE and PvP aspects, but there were just so many bugs and gameplay issues that I couldn't overlook. After a while I started falling asleep during the friggin' cut scenes!

From what seen so far from ArenaNet and in following the development of Guild Wars 2, I am positive this is the next big thing. The game already looks so polished. Overall gameplay looks like a lot of fun. Combat looks great. The elimination of the holy trinity seems to promote greater class balance. This will be sure to make PvE and PvP more enjoyable for all. The dynamic event system seems to be very immersive. You can tell that the folks at ArenaNet put a lot of time and energy into developing an execellent game.

I've been spending a lot of time learing about all aspects of the game via online forums and podcasts like yours. Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped for it's release!

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
Because I have spent the majority of my time in WoW I will speak to that. I was solo in Rift and although I was in a guild in SWTOR, I feel I did not play long enough to go into much more detail than saying it was fun while it lasted.

Initially I was part of a small guild on Bronzebeard called the Knights Templar made up of mainly of real life buddies. There was about twelve of us in the guild and we primarily focused on leveling via quests and dungeons. We also PvP'd quite a bit as well. Very laid back and casual. We helped each other out and had a blast doing it!

Wanting to progress and see a bit more of the game our guild then merged with another called The Crusade. This guild was much more hardcore and progress oriented. Here I was able to experience the end game content of vanilla and BC, as well as organized PvP. Unfortunately, due to internal politics the guild dissolved with some members transferring to other servers. I stayed on Bronzebeard with my real life buddies and the other remaining members of the guild.

We then formed a guild similar to our initial guild - small and casual. Our main focus was having fun and enjoying the game. We mostly PvP'd, doing battlegrounds and arena. Nothing serious...just for shits and giggles. We all created and geared multiple twinks at the 39 level bracket. This included helping each other level and running each other through instances again and again to get specific drops. Again, we had a great time in both WSG and AB. The back and forth we had with some oppossing Horde twink guilds was awesome!

Once WotLK arrived we decided to check out the new content. Most of us, including myself joined up with a guild called Coherence. Again, I was able to progress and gear up through this expansions end game PvE content. This guild was geared toward progression. Although I enjoyed my time here, by the time Cataclysm was set to release I knew I was done. I just became bored with it all and wanted something different.

How did you hear about the Guild?
Guild Wars 2 Guru and YouTube. The podcasts are great btw! Not only entertaining, but very informative.

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I consider myself to be a somewhat skilled gamer. Even though I have not played Guild Wars before, I am excited to jump right in. This is the game I have been waiting for! I have taken it upon myself to learn as much as I can prior to it's release. I'm always glad to help anyone and everyone who needs it...at anytime. As the great James Taylor said..."You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am, I'll come running to see you again." I love the cheese! Contributing to any guild I am a part of is a must, not only through helping others when they need it, but by providing the guild with useful resources gained from farming/gathering and crafting. I'm very laid back, outgoing, and easy to get along with. Always eager to group up and have some fun!

Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Totally! Not to repeat what I have said above, but From what I have seen reading the forums and the viewing the podcasts Arcanix has a great group of people. If accepted, I would be proud to be a part of this group!

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I enjoy being a part of a guild with the same goal in mind...to have some fun!

Just a little about me...

About a year and a half ago I started dating this new girl. Well it was our first date and I took her out for a nice birthday dinner. Dinner went great and we ended up back at her place for a movie. We watched Emperor's New Groove (not a bad film mind you) and then started talking when it was over. This was when I decided to test her...you know to see if she could accept me for...well me. So it was during a pretty intense conversation when I interrupted her and said, "wait one second..." I then paused, ripped a killer fart (easily a 10 out of 10), and then said, "continue." We both had a good laugh and went right on talking. Needless to say she is wonderful and we've been together ever since! Now if only I could get her to play Guild Wars 2!

I enjoy long walks on the beach, my eyes tear in the slightest headwind, I love a good cup of green tea with mint and blue agave (Mmm Mmm shit is good), and enjoy the vocals of the one and only Mr. Neil Diamond!

I'll gladly take part in any dance parties.

Additionally, does pandering to the Guild Officers help?
Tristan - Damn, this dude can dance! Some people (and felines) just have it!
Bruce - I'd love to snuggle up and nestle right into your beard in the most heterosexual way!
Jon - I feel it's quite possible that you could be the wind beneath my wings...
Jen - Marry me? : P
