Tell us how YOU ring in the New Year! With Friends? Family? You don't remember due to alcohol consumption...

It used to involve sleep by 10PM since I always had to work the next day, but this year I have no idea what the fuck we'll be doing. I mean, we could bar hop, hang out with friends, consume copious amounts of liquor and end up naked in the streets... Well, not me. With this fur coat stitched to my body I'm never really "naked".... I mean, I guess there is that one time where

Over the years my New Year's celebrations have become more mellow. Usually it involves hanging around the house with family, getting our drink-of-choice on, and watching New Year's Rockin' Eve... waiting for that ball to drop.
This year, since I just moved in to my new apartment, I think family will be coming here and they are doing a beach thing at midnight with fireworks, so we may be doing that. Also I have some pretty cool new neighbors who have invited me to imbibe some spirits with them. Good times!

My New Years have ranged from:

Family, finger foods, watching the best Scrooge ever made:

Then when I got older: Friends, being dissappointed, wanting to get laid.

Then back to family with my friends for relaxed chill nights.

To my place with my cousin gaming old video games.

Then Going to my dads and having great food and champagne.

Then this year will be new as well I am hosting a party at my house in which Katie, Jon, Brian, Rux, Bob and some of their friends will be coming!

More than welcome but I figured the ride would be quite long for new years.
No, it's ok, I see how it is. Not like I understand long distance driving or anything /sniffle /unwanted /devastated

But in all srsns, Caroline's coming down with something so we wouldn't be able to anyways. <3

Staying up til midnight used to be a big deal for me, but I normally don't go to bed until well after now. So New Year's usually consists of me looking at a clock and saying "Oh, I guess it's next year," and starting another episode of Dr Who.

I used to do New Year's resolutions, then one year I resolved not to make any more resolutions, and I'm on quite a streak for not breaking that one.

The very traditional family evening. But as we rarely eat together anymore its always something special. We also have the tradition of leaving all the lights on and the water to float freely (ofc one minute only) for a rich new year. I dont know if this tradition is popular. Let me know if anyone do the same.

Working graveyard shift I have had many years recently that I just got to watch the fireworks displays around town from the taxiways of the airport. This year new years falls on my weekend so me and Therese will probably go down to the Tempe town lake block party. It is hosted by tostidos fiesta bowl and is one of the 5 biggest new years block parties in the states. That just means lots of people, food vendor booths, outdoor bands, and booze while walking from bar to bar :)

For my 19th or 20th birthday (DoB 01/01) I was in my home city of Chester, UK. My drink of choice for the evening was 80% vol Finnish vodka purchased cheaply from Estonia (that's another story). My school friends, consisting of the three people I used to play D&D with in school, were visiting various house parties of other schoolmates. I didn't give a shit about those other people, but I was happy to spend the evening in the company of my gaming buddies. At the first house I picked up half a bottle of 20% caramel liquor that the host didn't want. That was my mixer for the 80% vodka. Well, we went around 2-3 more houses each with different circles of friends celebrated New Year somewhere along the line, and ended up in one house around 2am. It was then I decided to steal an entire loaf of French bread from someone I barely knew by stuffing up the sleeve of my long coat. It was successful, but to this day, I have no idea why I thought that was a good idea.

I left the house, returned to my family home, and ate the bread. I then proceeded to sleep for about 40mins, and then I vomited every half hour from 3am til about 9am. Good times.

My New Years up to this point have consisted of my family being in a "Let's celebrate together!" kind of mood while I just go "Mehhhhh..." They then proceed to stick silly hats on my head and various noise making devices in my hand and throw lots of confetti. The only difference year to year is usually what game I'm using to ignore my relations. Last year it was Skyrim, this year I imagine it will be League of Legends or Halo 4. Oh well, at least I get bubbly cider!

When I was younger, I would stay up playing board games with my mom. Dad usually gets up at 4 or 5am for work, so he rarely stays up late, even on New Year's Eve. As I got older, I often spent the evening with my best friend or boyfriend (whoever that was at the time). After my college years, I usually spent the evening watching the TV specials with my mom again (sans board games :( ). Last night I was with my boyfriend and his parents. We drank a little wine, watched the ball drop, toasted, and the bf and I shared a kiss. Afterwards I bundled up and played in the snow. I made a pathetic looking snowman, and at the end I flopped down in the 6+ inches of powdery snow and made a snow angel until my pants were soaking wet (despite the fact that I have an awful cold). That was probably the most exciting New Year's Eve I've had in years, lol. I come from Texas where we close everything if we get half an inch of snow (which happens maybe once every 5 years).

Anyway, my New Year celebrations are generally really low-key, but I spend them with the people I love- and that's good enough for me!

We always try to do something a little different but it's always spending time with family or friends. Last year was very chill and honestly I can't remember what we did even. The year before that we went to a Moroccan restaurant and I got to dance with the belly dancers (yay!). This year we went and saw fireworks from a roof (thanks Tristan!). So yeah...no specific tradition but it's always about having a good time with awesome people.

First off: loads of alcohol xD We had a party at a friend of mine, played pool and darts. We have a thing here in the Netherlands called Top 2000. You can vote for your favorite song and the song with the most votes ends on top. 2000 songs and the number one is played right before midnight. Very awesome. Numero uno is always Bohemian Rapsody by Queen. So the last few minutes of 2012 were spent singing that song with +/- 30 people. Pretty awesome. After that party I went to another party that was in the forest. It's this disco called "The Green Barn" and it indeed it is a green barn. They fixed it up to become a great party place. Very awesome party there. Overall: loads of awesome!

Family always comes first with me, although I am sick anyways can't really do much with friends except play games.
Already a bad start to a new year. :(
