What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
My play style is PvP, dungeon/instance groups, and Boss Raid mobs. I will do the storyline quests and some of the side quests but given a choice I will spend more time leveling up doing PvP and instance with the guild. I will do side quests and exploring from time to time to break up the PvP and instances but more often than not you will find me in WvW flying the guild flag over the 50p caslte.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Ulitima Online 2 years, EQ1 4 years, EQ2 7 yrs, Rift >1 yr, SWTOR >1 yr, Eve online 2 years.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I ran a Raid and PvE guild as guild leader for 5 years and ran with other power house Raid guilds on and off in EQ2 and EQ1 as well. I have pretty much done it all when it comes to MMO’s. My latest stent was with SWTOR but I bailed when I got so frustrated with EA and BioWare not getting their act together and messing up PvP and a list of other things.
For the most part my experience with running a guild has had its ups and downs. I made many longtime friends who I still stay in touch with. Running a Raid guild was a bit more difficult with all the requirements and babysitting all the 24 - 40 personalities. The organization that go into making sure you do loot right and set up Vent have the right classes, asing rolls to officers, put all the drama fires out ect. It is a lot of work and can burn you out after a while. It is nice to be a guild member in an active guild that uses TeamSpeak or Vent. I hate to type so having TeamSpeak or Vent is a must for me.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I actually watched a lot of GW2 Beta test UTube videos on line. I came across the WvW one that Tristan did while on his Mesmer. Out of all the ones I have watched I love the interaction between you guys helping each other out. Putting that reflective bubble on the cannon and the one on the bridge where they were pushing you back was epic. I like that everyone helped you set up the Trebuchet and you knocked the wall down. I also watch a video where two other guilders where blowing the hell out of the other teams with a cannon they set up on a keep. Raining down Ice and explosive rounds of pure death on a bridge the other team was trying to cross. I agree that is sucked that all the treasure bags where gone when they changed up who was on the cannon. At the time I did not know that they were in your guild until I watched your video with 4 of you Skyped in and where talking about the game and answering people’s questions and giving away the beta key prize. I love how Tristan kept plugging the guild recruitment page during the video and the others would kind of rol their eyes and laugh about it. It reminded me of what I would do in Vent when I had pugs join our raids and the offices would give me shit about how many times I would try to recruit every dirge on the EQ2 server. A guild leaders work is never done. PR whenever you can is my motto. So after seeing many of your videos I decided that your guild would be a good fit to kick off GW2 and meet some new people. I can’t wait to lift the guild flag above the 50pt keep in WvW.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
For the most part I will bring a skilled helpful player who likes to have fun with a group of like-minded individuals that are cool people to hang out with while enjoying a game we all love to play. I usually do not jump into a guild right away when I start a new MMO. I like to figure out the basics of the game first. I don’t want to look too much like a noob before I join. Nor do I want to have to guild hop 50 times looking for mature players that know what is needed to run a good guild. From all the videos and the last Beta that I was able to play in I think I will be sticking around in GW2 for a while. So why not kick things off with a solid guild that likes to have fun, has got their act together, and don't freak out if you drop a S or F bomb on Vent. I like the 18+ requirment you have too.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
I like to stick with just one guild at a time. So I will stick with Arcanix unless there is some major droma fest that sucks all the fun out of the game. I don’t see that happening with you guys running things.
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
