What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I had been waiting for the launch of GW2 since mths before, decided to get Diablo3 hoping that it'll occupy me till GW2 launches.... Boy was i wrong... It was fun while it lasted but it got old really quick. Im a dedicated gamer that really enjoys cooperative play and the concept of well... guilds. I mean the main thing that separates MMOs from single player games are the people. In my opinion, the importance of having good company playing a game actually triumphs the quality of the game itself and over the years, this has been the angle at which i have approached MMOs. Enjoy the game but more importantly, enjoy the people round u and make sure ur fun to be around.
PvE: Well, theres no escaping PvE is there? Im not saying that i don't enjoy PvE but i am a really competitive player and that end game is really what i'm after most of the time. I was really attracted to GW2 coz the PvE experience is awesome! Quoting from one of ur podcasts' , "The Game IS The End Game!". Well said ! I used to enjoy games like Devil May Cry or Onimusha on the play station coz skill was actually a factor! Most MMOs u go click click click and yay u lvl up after a couple of hrs, not really into that, but GW2... the dodging mechanic and the weapon change... This is the game ive been looking for! And i plan to really dedicate my time to this!
PvP: Im all about PVP! Like i said im really into serious skilled combat! I wont say that im particularly skilled, but if i get my butt whooped in a pvp battle, im not resting till i find out why! I enjoy playing characters differently and being the best at a unique playing style! For example, i plan to be an elementalist because the idea of being able to pawn with the dbl daggers really excites me! Warrior with guns.. not that big of a deal but wizards with daggers?! AWESOME!!
Group PVP is my favorite aspect of every game! i was addicted to Ragnarok Online ( not very popular.. its a classic tho in my opinion) because of their guild wars, they would have castle sieges which really required pvp co ordination and strategic planning. I will elaborate on my experience in that field later on but the crux of the matter is that I LOVE GROUP PVP! Hopefully, we'd integrate well enough as a family to dominate WvWvW for example
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Ok, Ill start off with Ragnarok Online since i promised to elaborate on it! I played RO for 3years plus. Was a Maxed lordknight and a Class leader of my guild "Honors". We ran the guild with leaders for each of the specific classes and we as the leaders were in charged of administrative affairs ie recruitment, conflicts etc etc. On more of a PvP note, we were the ones to co ordinate and plan battle groups amongst our specific classes. In the guild wars every wednesday and saturdays we'd gather at our rendezvous to party up and after the war, I'd plan special events for our guild members to just bond and have a great time. I played an integral role in my guild throughout my stay there and left when the main leaders of the guild got banned for some credit card scams or smth.
I also used to play Voyage Century for a couple of years too, for those who have never heard of it, its a pirate- based game. Pretty old game, but i felt it was really unique. There was sea battle and world-wide exploration. I wont go into the game concept but i just got hooked on the diversity of the game. I was a director in my guild "Hardcore", we were the top 2 guilds in the server and alliance. I came into the game pretty late but nevertheless managed to Max my character was a lvl155 Armed Businessman(A Healer Land-Battle Character). Was doing pretty well in pvp! BUT the game was totally TOTALLY PAY TO WIN.... I was spending 300 bucks a mth and still was wayyyy behind... Turns out a dude was spending bout 2k a week and singlehandedly owning entire servers. Blah =/
Enough Complaining tho! hahah but yea these are the the two games that i really spent time on, i played games like DragonNest Lineage Flyff etc etc a couple of months each but never really got into them
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I was actually in only one, max 2 guilds in each of the games ive played, never really applied for any guild like im doing now.. Wow im really taking GW2 seriously huh ... nerd LOL jkjk... Anyways! yea In Ragnarok Online i was A Class Leader (2nd ranked after Guild Leader).
In Voyage Century, I was a director in charged of the HR of our guild and the in-guild market and storage on our website ( no where as fancy as the one yall have on here haha). I played a role in recruitment, that's prolly y i really respect what yall are doing here with the guild applications, we would do it in game and have a probation period of 1-2 weeks and have our members vote if the recruit was welcomed into our family.
I held leadership roles in guilds for the several other games ive played, i generally preferred to be around a close knit group of mature people... Who wont be begging for items and going " POWERLEVEL ME PUHLEASEEE!" all the time -,- Every real gamer knows what im talkin bout. (May they all burn =x) hahah
How did you hear about the Guild?
I actually came onto the website after hearing it mentioned on one of the guild war 2 podcast that yall put up on youtube. Was hoping that yall had a guild because yall really sound experienced and BAM! "Apply For Guild" Again im so sorry for the crappy application, i was being raped by my text books and jumped on when i had a chance to take a break!
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
Im a cool asian dude ( STICKING TO THIS FROM THE LAST POST COZ ITS TRUE!)
Hahaha imma be chatty, im a friendly guy! But above all that ive got experience in several types of games and have held leadership positions in several of the guilds so i could probably help brainstorm on how to improve the guild? Im no journalist but i could help out in posting guides too.. and yea just wanna be a positive influence on newer members and a person that fun to be around.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
HELLL YEAAA! The idea of having more than one guilds whacked.. wheres the loyalty
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I'm re-applying! Partially because of the strict criteria at which the guild has for its recruitment. Its intriguing but impressive at the same time, its exactly what im looking for.I do apologize for my first application, I wrote it on a study break studying for my last paper of the finals (Studying Banking and Finance so yea, it messed up my brain badddd) But yea the darned tests are up now and i want to make up for my previous application. Once again i apologize for not checking for the required standards but i hope this is satisfactory
