What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
PvE mostly, but I am interested in WvW with a fun group. The sPvP in GW2 interests me a little bit too because I had fun playing solo during the BWE.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
FFXI was my first MMO, played that for about a year.
GW1 for about a year.
I played WoW from release to about halfway through WotLK.
I also play SC2, LoL, TF2 occassionally.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I was in a guild during my WoW days. I stuck with the same group of people throughout my time in Azeroth across 2-3 iterations of a guild. I became friends with a large group of the 'core' members, even though they weren't necessarily the GM or officers. The group I generally ran with was focused on progression at the time and we split off to form our own guild of which I became the druid CL. No real hard feelings, the lack organization and skill on part of some of the officers was wearing thin on a lot of the membership though. Oh well :\ I enjoy being part of a community where people can joke around and help each other out. It's always more fun running around with somebody than not. I'm not as focused on 'progression' and like the relaxed environment that GW2 seems to be offering.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I saw the Podcast link on guru.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I like to think I was a fairly skilled player in WoW. I take care to learn my class and stay up to date on the metagame. GW2 looks to offer a completely new experience so I'm looking forward to adapting! I'm generally chatty in guild chat, maybe not so much on vent but I do take part. I like to lend a hand to guildies, and I hope to be a productive member of whatever guild I end up in.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
First application out there in the GW2 universe, so if I get accepted than hell yea! I don't like the idea of belonging to multiple guilds. I want my influence to go towards a group that I'm associated with 100%. I want to make friends and stick with the same group of people simiiar to my experiences in WoW
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I still stay in contact with some of the people I met in WoW, and look forward to the same here! I work nightshift a lot, so it'll be interesting to see how many people I see online... but I'm looking for another job so who knows. If it doesn't work out, I appreciate your time.
I also have a pair of Sennheiser headphones/mic, I noticed you guys throw a lot of weight on the quality of a applicants mic so hopefully that makes the cut!
