Guild Wars 2: First Impressions of the Beta​

I’ll be honest up front: I’m not an MMO player. Yeah, I dabbled inChampions[bimg=fright]http://blogs-images.forbes.com/carolpinchefsky/files/2012/05/GW2Logo-300x207.jpg[/bimg] Online, and I spent more than a few sessions puzzle-solving inUru Live (a.k.a. Myst Online). But when an MMO-obsessed friend sent me a Guild Wars 2 (GW2) beta key, I gave in to curiosity and fired up the game. The first thing that went through my mind was, “These graphics are pretty decent.” The second was, “Ah-hah, I’m playing Dragon Age: The MMO.” The third was, “I wish I had more than an afternoon to power through this.”​

For someone that doesn't play MMO's much, she definitely seemed to enjoy it. She missed a few things, like being able to swap weapons out of combat or use a lower level gathering tool than the level 10 one she randomly got, but I'm actually really glad to hear that someone with minimal MMO experience enjoys the game, while use more "hardcore" players appreciate it as well.
