For surviving Chapter 2 the reward for the in game characters is: A syringe of Morphine and a food ration (as the chapters progress you get more items). Each person will have this going forward, when you choose to use it is up to you. You do not need to mention it in story to get it, just know you own it.

Additions to the rules are in green.

Guidelines: Out of character chat is defined by (( out of character )).
The story will begin once we have at least 5 characters.

How to talk: When it begins you will want to talk about yourself and what you say using a format similar to: "Fuck that is huge", I said in a gasp.

Posts: Keep your entries brief, no longer than a paragraph to keep the storyline going.

24 Hour time limit: You will have 24 hours to get in all the interaction you want until the story is progressed forward by the Captain.

Time commitment: Each time the captain speaks the timer is set to 24 hours before the story progresses. If no one speaks in that time the Captain will progress the story. If you cannot dedicate a moment a day to post, please remove yourself from the game. It really isn't that much of a commitment we are asking for, but it is one that makes it better for everyone else and allows for cool story lines to develop.

Interaction: DO NOT KILL OR WRITE STORY ACTIONS FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN THE AREA. You can of course reference them and interact but how they respond is up to them.

The Captain: This player will decide what your actions consequences are. So choose wisely. Think of it like D&D but if you cast magic missile into the darkness you will probably be swarmed by a billion zombies and die. If you die you can sign up on the sign up page again under a new name and begin in the next chapter.

Your character: I understand some people like to have introverted characters. If this were a film that would be OK, but since this is text based, unless you want to do a ton of posts where you say "I thought to myself" and have very little impact on story or the people around you, I suggest you talk to the characters around you and get to know them.

Chapters: Each Zombie RP session will be broken up into chapters to let others join in later if they are so inclined and also give a sense of progression and accomplishment to those who have finished. As well bonuses, such as weapons, food, housing will be provided to those who make further into the chapters.

Start Date: Chapter 3 will kickoff on April 10th or when everyone has signed up that wants to prior. We may just have rolling invites through the 10th so the current members can continue on their journey sooner. And your signup will then trigger an event.

Attacking and Betrayal: We will be adding dice rolling into this chapter for some mixed outcomes. During fighting you will roll the dice, as well as an added ability for Betrayal.(you're welcome Cid) This will add a new layer to the story where there is more interaction and strife between the characters. We want to make sure there is always something going on, not just a bunch of people doing their own thing. So prepare to have to deal with confrontation more.

Updated with additional rules to keep the RP flowing better. We cannot have another Chapter 2 where I am forced to move everyone. If you cannot dedicate a moment a day to post, please remove yourself from the game. It really isn't that much of a commitment we are asking for, but it is one that makes it better for everyone else and allows for cool story lines to develop.

The Texas Ranger will join in on the action. I'm not good at these things so i probably won't do extremely long passages. (Even though i am using Chuck Norris as my base i will not use him actually so it doesn't break the game :) this is my own personal character)

Name: Jim
Gender: Male
Age: 43
Equipment you may have on your person: Whip, .38 special, Hunting knife (6 inch blade) attached to leg. 3 bottles of pure water.
Where you were at the time of the explosions: In a tree watching what this group of miscreants does to handle themselves and i have to say i was impressed.
Brief bio: I am a bit of a lone wolf but after seeing the way this team moves i have to help them because they may be humanities only hope. Used to be a Texas Ranger believe it or not.
Appearance: 5'-10", 195 pounds, athletic build

Edit: Name change

Lol nice, zombies don't stand a chance now. xP

Don't worry long passages are not required, just enough to keep the story moving. ^^ And yes I'll have to alter my character a bit to help move it along. Or use another one; still have not seen an opportune entrance for him. x.x

Name: Nova
Gender: Female
Age: 31
Equipment you may have on your person: A bicycle that has seen better days with a Shopping Cart attached by approx. 2 feet of chain. Inside the cart there is a tattered dirty blanket, a shredded plastic tarp, 5 dented cans of beans, a large military-style canteen of water, a broken bloodied hand mirror, a small bloodied cast iron fry pan, a stuffed cat toy on a stick, a rotting zombie leg (keeps the zombies at bay if I smell like one... kind of like air unfreshener/repellent), a metal trash can lid, and a rusty butterfly knife.
Where you were at the time of the explosions: Digging through a dumpster behind the local grocery.
Brief bio: Nova was living on the streets at the time of the explosion. A mostly-functional junkie for years who liked getting high huffing fumes and other substances. Estranged from her family, and taking odd, often illegal jobs, just to exist. When she encountered the first few zombies, she thought she was hallucinating, but quickly her survival instincts kicked in and she has managed to avoid being eaten.
Appearance: Short shaggy hair, tanned skin, dark eyes that look hollow. Medium build, wearing cutoffs with biking shorts underneath, a tank top with a very loose t-shirt on top that says FUCK OFF, and a red bandana tied around her head. She is wearing a worn leather choker with a tarnished metal star dangling from it... a special gift that she refuses to take off.

Oh my god chuck hahahahahahahaha but it made me smile very big to see two sign ups! Gonna be a fun chapter. Anyway Kismet MoDSec and Baldoraxx can talk in pm to work out a way they may know each other so when we get to the woods in chapter 3 perhaps we cross paths with your group? Sooner than later :)

Character updates, mostly to the as-yet-not-introduced Marty.

Name: Cid Ohiem (ha.. haha. :p)
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Equipment brought to the surface: Backpack containing rations and water supplied by the base, his own medical kit containing numerous surgical tools along with general first aid items, an excessive number of sharp objects (knives, razors, picks, needles), and a pistol with a single box of ammo buried in the bottom, forgotten.
As of Chapter 3, all Cid has left is one long razor blade, a claw-like tool, a syringe of morphine, 1 food ration, and a box of matches (-3).
Brief bio: Before the apocalypse, Cid was a surgeon of some note; perhaps one of the best, had it not been for the numerous deaths under his watch. Deaths which he could have prevented. Cid never feels more alive than when the life of another is in his hands, and too often he has had the urge to take that life. More often he sates this urge outside the hospital, lest others get suspicious. Cid is extremely cautious, meticulous, and clean, almost to the point of obsession.
Due to his quiet and thoughtful nature (well, and the killing), Cid lacks social contacts. So when the apocalypse happened, he was not in any immediate danger, and merely watched the chaos unfold as he planned his next move. This led him to the First Resistance Base, where his medical ability was in great need. Here he treated the wounded, experimented in fighting zombification, and assisted in putting down those too far gone - much to his secret amusement. Soon he will be dispatched to the surface as a team's medic, which worries him as it would be difficult to take a life when travelling with a small group. Hopefully there will be plenty of zombies.
As luck would have it, there have been plenty of zombies for Cid to sate his homicidal urges upon. So far the group, and therefore himself, have been safe from his own hand. For how long he did not know, but thought a lot about. The itch was always there, but controllable, thankfully.
Appearance: 5'11" with light brown/blonde hair, a fair complexion and fierce blue eyes. He could be considered handsome if he bothered to take care of himself, but he is too preoccupied with his thoughts to try. He eats and sleeps not nearly enough, making him somewhat gaunt and spooky-looking, but always very neat and clean, a strange contrast with an unappealing result.

As of Chapter 3 Cid looks even worse with very dark circles under his eyes, torn black clothing (which hides the blood stains rather well), his white coat long gone. He has tried to keep the dirt off himself but with no way to properly clean himself he remains rather messy. Normally it wouldn't be a problem, but the constant filth is slowly eating at his sanity.
Name: Marty Rynn
Gender: Male
Age: 15 and a half
Equipment brought to the surface: The clothes on his back, a stolen pistol with only the ammo that was in it, and some miscellaneous items in his pockets including a small swiss army knife, paper clips, and an almost-empty lighter.
Brief bio: The bombs dropped while Marty was on his way home from school. He was only 14 then, and very confused. He heard people talk of something maybe happening, but this... absolute panic in the streets, everywhere, people running and screaming and killing each other. He ran home as fast as he could, or at least what used to be home. The windows were broken, the door open... then he heard gunshots from inside. 3 of them, followed by a man screaming in pain, or anger, or maybe both, he didn't know, he was too scared to look, too paralyzed with fear. He was relieved when his father came out, but that relief was crushed when he saw that his dad was wild-eyed and covered in blood with a baseball bat in his hand. He grabbed Marty and hauled him to the car, not answering any of his son's questions. Just threw him in and took off. As they left the driveway, though, one of his questions was answered. Through the broken glass, slumped against a wall, was his mother; dead.
He started crying then, flailing to get out of the car, beating his dad. He couldn't see anything through his tears. All he knew from then was that they started spinning, and he felt like he was going to throw up. Probably did. It would explain the smell. He was dizzy, hurt, lost, confused... bleeding. Someone took him then, someone wearing white, spotted in red. It's all he remembers before waking up in the base, alone. Around him were many people, some screaming, some crying, some utterly silent with horridly empty eyes. He was cared for, but knew none of these people. The doctor that helped his wounds seemed nice but creepy. He saw those with families, kids with their parents, and grew angry, frustrated. He wanted out.
These feelings only grew the more time he spent in the base, despite his generally positive and upbeat attitude. All those people, with their families... he hated seeing them, hated being around them, hated being locked up in the base. He wanted nothing more than to get away, and didn't care to where. Once he heard rumors of the doors going to open and about the potential hostilities outside, he stole a gun and started planning a way to get out; being so young with no guardian he figured they'd want to keep him locked up. Those adults, always thinking kids like him couldn't do anything for themselves. He'd show them.
Marty was out of the base as soon as the doors opened, bolting off as fast as he could on his own. A young boy with plenty of energy, he got pretty far on his own. He heard some of the commotion when the abomination attacked everyone but never looked back. There was nothing for him there, anyway.
After he started running out of steam, he began to take in his surroundings... and was shocked. There was nothing. Nothing but destruction. Fighting back tears he pushed on with solid determination to find something, anything. But no matter how far he ran, there remained nothing. Eventually he tired and sought refuge in a forest. Hungry, thirsty, tired, and lost, he wondered what he was going to do... when the group of survivors entered the forest. He did not want to join them, but... he was so hungry. He decided to watch them for a bit from the treetops.
Appearance: Just an average 15 (and a half) year old boy, who if anything looks younger than he is. Short and thin with medium brown hair and bright hazel eyes, wearing the only clothes he had - a t-shirt with an amusing zombie on it and cargo pants - very much tattered now.

I was going to introduce Marty in the first chapter but the story moved ahead before I got the chance. The second chapter didn't have a good point of entry for him, especially with the people dying and whatnot. So I'll see if there's a good opportunity to do so in chapter 3.
