My opinion:
Since Cheese is supplying us with a translation (huge thanks for this), I figured I could explain the meaning a little. This is from the comments of the video and sums it up pretty good:

I know a lot of people on the internet say this video is a critic brought to the otaku life style but please hear me out a bit. I personally believe that this goes even deeper than that. I believe this video criticizes modern addictions in general. What I see present here are first of all porn addiction and all the fetishes that are mediatized this days. This is the most prominent message. Quite obvious through all the nudity and mostly the scene where it looked like he was getting a BJ and the scene where the blue haired girl was pleasuring herself. Also the scene where she puked white stuff into his mouth. We all know what that was right?

Second there's cigarettes and narcotics addiction. He is smoking in the video, there are cigarette stumps all over his room. Also when he enters the TV\display the images are very bright, colourful and random like he is high on something. But than it all goes dark as if he is having paranoia. Acid much?

Third there's TV\ PC addiction. The guy is sleeping in front of a display not even bothering turning it off. He looks sleep deprived and his room is very messy like it wasn't cleaned in a while. Than there's video game addiction. This is also one of the most visibly criticized during the scene the guy goes all super Saiyan and then transforms into some SCI FI soldier. The video then turns into a first person shooter. This shows that the protagonist cannot tell reality from fiction anymore at this moment and although he tries to fight he fails and he ends up being "eaten" by his addictions.

The crying girl I personally believe symbolises reality that tries to make him remember how great real life actually is but she fails at it. Either that or she is a symbol for all the protagonist's loved ones who miss his company. The girl with multiple eyes is in my opinion the embodiment of all his addiction. At the end when the guy is being eaten away by the blue haired girls, the pink haired monster kisses him and although he is crying he closes his eyes as if admitting defeat and accepting his addictions.

Basically I think this video is about how the modern day addictions affect our lives and our relationships with other humans and how they alter our perspective of life and social relationships. Also as some people said in some comments above the last frame is exactly the same as the first one. So a "vicious circle" is created. Probably with the moral: "Those who do not learn from their past are bound to repeat it." I could probably write 10 more comments about this but it'll take too long. So if you have questions about my theory just reply to this comment.

Cheese Opinion
Addiction was always there, it has just never been so easy, prevalent, or accepted.
The problem addictions like gin bars and opium dens were always someplace you had to go, and the townsfolk could push out or eliminate them.
Never before has the delivery system for business been the exact same delivery system for so many addictions.

Just imagine if licking your textbook gave you an acid like high.
No one would ever learn crap and society would be even more screwed up than it is now.

<rant>
I love games and grew up on games, but they only needed one plug to work and were damn expensive.
Perseverance in beating a hard game because you don't have any money left, plus learning about them before you bought a bad one were good lessons. Now, games are throwaway.
Too hard, not my fault. Buy a new one.
Sucky game, not my fault. Buy a new one.
Good game, boring. Buy a new one.

Businesses are taking advantage of the addiction and doing less for more money too.
I think porn and all that crap which people complain about are normal parts of a functioning society, but the rarity and difficulty in getting it was part of the fun.
Being 2 clicks away from anything you want is the real problem. Even normal people have a high chance for addictive behavior if its pushed in their face so much.
Just look at how quickly people get fatter once the first excuse for being fat is accepted.

We're too rich
Too stupid
Too lazy
Almost too far gone as a 1st world culture in any country.

Poor kids these days.
Parents always act and look stupid because they forget about what it was like growing up, or are trying to live through their kids.
Today, most dumb parents are too lazy (on social media) to help them with anything, or too ignorant of what the internet poses to them to help.
Most adults only use the internet to appease their stupid opinions, then force their kids to do crazy things like not get vaccinated.
Honestly, that's child abuse. No question about it. (this could go much, much longer)

My kids are going to hate me, but will grow up better than most.
No net on their phones ever. EVER.
</rant>

EDIT: This got me all riled up!
<rant2>
Honestly I attribute my success today to gaming and really F'ing hard games.
As a child I had absolute proof that if you try hard enough you might not beat the game, but you will get better. Most importantly, you have to think and try something new, maybe something really crazy. Never give up, Never surrender!

Want to learn to cook? Keep trying
Want to learn a language? Keep trying
Want to make money doing something different? Keep trying

Games proved to you that the B.S. those successful people kept touting was actually the complete truth. Talent matters, but not giving up and coming up with new solutions separates the successful from the talented who complain at the bar.

That's the missing piece kids need. Really F'ing hard content they cant give up on without a big cost. Games need to be 75$ or more, and they need to be hard!

I had this problem as well. And this is why I try to play only one or two games at a time and try to finish them. I still buy way too many games though.

Being 2 clicks away from anything you want is the real problem. Even normal people have a high chance for addictive behavior if its pushed in their face so much.

And this also leads to another problem. There has always been people that are on the edge. But if things that are on the edge become normal they start to look for even more extreme things to do.

Parents always act and look stupid because they forget about what it was like growing up, or are trying to live through their kids.
Today, most dumb parents are too lazy (on social media) to help them with anything, or too ignorant of what the internet poses to them to help.

And then the parents start to blame the internet and tells websites that they have to change so that kids can´t use them. I have yet to find a system that can´t be broken. When I was younger, I could easily get around any protective system people tried and I dare to say that todays generation might even be more tech savy than I am. Or at least someone of your classmates will have a way around it.

Most adults only use the internet to appease their stupid opinions, then force their kids to do crazy things like not get vaccinated.

Don´t even get me started!

My kids are going to hate me, but will grow up better than most.
No net on their phones ever. EVER.

This is the part where I disagree with you. I consider it important to let kids have freedom on what they do. The perfect time is different for each kid, but somewhere around 12-14 should be the right age. Preventing mistakes might hurt in the long run.
I am also going to have a "open" PC which is at a place where I can easily supervise it. I´m not going to lock down everything, because I will take responsibility for my kid and not say:"Well it´s blocked so there can be no harm done"

Another problem that my siblings have is that their kids get way to many presents. My Grandparents and me already made a deal with them, so we give them the money we would spent on a give and they put it on bank account for when they grow up. But their inlaws and also my parents just give them gift after gift after gift. Which does not only make them spoiled, but also starts unrest in the family (why didn´t I get the present my brother got?)

Honestly I attribute my success today to gaming and really F'ing hard games.

I was already out of the time where the games where REALLY hard, since I´ve started with the Gamecube Generation. Since I was more into PC gaming from the beginning and back then this required a TON of fiddling around I luckily acquired 2 skills that help me so so much in my daily work:
1. Basic understanding on how machines and software are being build and are supposed to be used
2. Not being afraid to try out things because you thing you will break it
This is something that I see with a lot of people when they come for sorting. They are so afraid to break something in the machine that they don´t want to use it at all.

That's the missing piece kids need. Really F'ing hard content they cant give up on without a big cost. Games need to be 75$ or more, and they need to be hard!

While I wouldn´t mind games being more expensive (curse you steam!), I would still like to see a "easy"-mode. I´m playing games mostly for a story that I am telling and not for a challenge. So making games super hard would frustrate me too much.

I had this problem as well. And this is why I try to play only one or two games at a time and try to finish them. I still buy way too many games though.
Most call me crazy that I only play one game at a time, but its just the best way to get my fun out of them.
Sure I have a few games for when the net breaks down, or back at my parents place a library of games and consoles (before the PS2) but I think that not having so many options right in front of me lets me develop and really enjoy the games I do play. Even when content gets bored and crappy it teaches me to invent ways to have fun and get creative in the space.
However, I still give up easier than I used to.
Oh, and I'm really good at complaining too.

And then the parents start to blame the internet and tells websites that they have to change so that kids can´t use them. I have yet to find a system that can´t be broken. I understand lazy, hell I champion lazy. However lazy should be the hallmark of invention, not the bastion of blame.
Parents need to get creative in how they manage their kids and the things they don't understand, not think everything is oik if some dumbass label tells you it is. Things really went downhill in the 80's when that evil Gore bitch wanted to put a label on prince. Before that parents ignored, or listened to the music, good or bad at least they tried to get involved.

Kids are creative and very willing to fail, but most importantly they haven't had sex yet, so they don't have any distractions to take them away from what they are doing. They will always be more savvy than you because they just put more time into learning.

I have so many discussions with adults about learning, mostly languages. I always ask them about their favorite show, they can prattle on about details form that for ages, because they spend time in it. If they just changed to a foreign TV show think of all the accidental learning they could have. Adults just quit early, its a natural thing, but that's the big difference. We, as adults have other shit to distract us and really prioritize our dumbass time.
For kids dumbass time is learning by failure.

This is the part where I disagree with you. I consider it important to let kids have freedom on what they do. The perfect time is different for each kid, but somewhere around 12-14 should be the right age. Preventing mistakes might hurt in the long run.

Not sure if you misunderstood this one. My kids will have a computer with nearly unlimited access in the home, and full wifi, just not on their phones. Heck they'll probably have tablets that can do more than the best computers we have now when they are in Middle School. However nothing on their phones. That much internet is just a waste of time.

Honestly the new wave of school computers shouldn't have access beyond an intra-net in the first place.
The teachers should access info, then distribute it to the student's computers. Not give the kids a link to the outside internet.
If it were up to me, every school would be an intra-net only zone with no inter-net access on any phone.
Calls, texts, whatever, just no damn inter-net.
You want that, get permission and go to the library where your every byte is recorded.

However, this requires teachers to learn. Amazingly this is the one thing 80% of teachers hate the most and 50% flat out refuse to do.

People really need time away form the culture of instant information if they ever expect their memory to develop.
Smart phones make people stupid. Just ask anyone and they will cite multiple examples of how they are useless at things they could do before they got one.
Remembering dates, phone numbers, trivia questions, etc.

While I wouldn´t mind games being more expensive (curse you steam!), I would still like to see a "easy"-mode. I´m playing games mostly for a story that I am telling and not for a challenge. So making games super hard would frustrate me too much.
I love my easy mode games too, what was great is that back in the day those games were always the cheaper option too.
Usually less development cost and most importantly higher sales volume created the price drop. Everyone likes winning better, so more sold.
The clear difference was the time cycle between games and how the monetization forced you to try harder or do something other than game for a while.
Even the easy win games took effort or at least time, so the cycle was perfect, at least for me.

Sure I wanted more games, but that's what kids should be doing.
Wanting, striving, working hard and learning how to be better, even if indirectly.
If you don't pick that stuff up as a kid, wow, life will be tough.

It would be really interesting to do a in depth study of anti-social, degenerate, addiction, and violent behavior from a standpoint of tolerance development.
Did these people ever learn the cycle or wanting, working and getting? Or was there a piece missing?
How does the instant gratification cycle compare to the unrewarded work cycle of abuse?
I smell some grant money.

Who's got a P.H.D. I can borrow?

Oh, and I'm really good at complaining too.
I´m Swabian (part of bavaria). We are world champions when it comes to complaining.

However lazy should be the hallmark of invention, not the bastion of blame.
"Mathematicians are lazy. Lazy and smart" That´s what my math teacher always used to say.

Yes I misunderstood you. I would do it just as you suggested, maybe provide wifi in the lunch rooms. This should be fine in my opinion.

However, this requires teachers to learn. Amazingly this is the one thing 80% of teachers hate the most and 50% flat out refuse to do.

This is something that is not only a problem for teacher, but for a lot of scientists as well. We are slowly approaching the possibility to build videos (in the form of gifs) into a text. A lot of things can be explained so much better if you can show them. But most scientist are still scared of this possibility.

The only thing I can still remember fine is useless things. For example citing the story of most of the games I played. Or that moths are awful at flying.

If you don't pick that stuff up as a kid, wow, life will be tough.
Unless you become a social justice warrior. please don´t stone me for this

I´ve actually written to somebody who is working in that direction on twitter. Maybe she replies.

Every time you mention you're swabian, it makes me think you're a swabbie and that's just awesome cause I wanna be a pirate when I grow up. (The real kind not like these lame ones we have now)

I wanna be a pirate
Well you can still become this kind of pirate:
lol-limewire-you-re-a-pirate-o.gif

I´ve actually written to somebody who is working in that direction on twitter. Maybe she replies.

I would love to be involved in a project like this. Not even as a statistician who magically manipulates numbers to prove their own point, but as someone who is curious and accepts facts as they are proven, and most importantly that their hypothesis can be wrong.
As a SCIENTIST! (eeek everybody run a wild Scientist has appeared)

Funny how people have become so stupid that on Social Media that scientists are considered stupid and crazy because they believe in fact and properly use the scientific method, while Statisticians are revered and everything they say is accepted while their numbers are completely unfounded.
Maybe because their name rhymes with Beauticians and Scientist rhymes with Fascist?

Hummm.... I got my next political slogan!
Statisticians are the beauticians of facts.
Scientists are stupid fact Fascists!
Down with science, people have a right to make their own facts!

(^I'll bet you $100 Jesus bucks some fanatic anti-vaccine religious website quotes this)

Oh yeah, and ARRRRRRR Matie

She responded. So far there have been no studies in this direction. There is a paper though on how gaming can help against other kinds of addiction.

So now all you need to do is find somebody who is willing to fund you.
