Which healing class?

Stealing this post idea from Keleynal. I almost always play a healing/dps archetype in MMOs. I love being able to play a class that can do it all. In WoW my mains were Tree Druid and Holy Paladin. In Rift I was a Cleric. Even though there was no trinity in GW2 I rolled an elementalist because I could solo DPS while leveling but also switch to some healing based spells for group play. I loved having the ability to be that awesome dungeon healer that kept everyone alive or the guy that could fit in any spot in a group by switching specs.

Without knowing too much of the details just yet, I wanted to judge everyone's though about how healing will work in Wildstar. We already know some classes will have more telegraph heals than others. I don't think we will see any class that is all direct heals or all telegraph heals. I am so use to raid frames and health bars that I hope I'll be able to make the transition to a more action based healing.

Which classes do the healers think they will play? What kind of healing abilities do you expect? Will healing be as important or will we still be able to DPS?

Your welcome.

Healing will be my first alt, so I'll take my time choosing a class. I will say that I love one with a good mix of damage prevention. Proactive vs reactive healing, so I'll gravitate towards that.

I can't heal proactively. I need big heals to combat the big damage the tanks and players are taking. When I try shield based healing my tanks end up dying because I never remember to buff them properly.

I'll probably gravitate towards a more AoE based healing too because I find it easier to run in groups that way.

I was the guy with the instant cast shield that kept them alive the extra .25 seconds so your big heal could land.

Whoa, déjà vu.

If nothing seems to go good for a class for tank, I might give healing a go. I didnt do much of it in WoW but when I was healing it was kinda kool. Idk Just not enough info yet to decide whether I wanna give this a go or not.

I hope it is similar to healing in Tera but with smart heals and no painting of targets. I will be happy if it's very mobile and makes you feel like part of the action. Playing whack-a-mole WoW style is not for me.

I can see epsers being a protective healing class as they use illusions, but could be wrong. Like i said before im really interested in spellslinger, seems they will be able to get in and out of danger pretty quickly, while shooting allies in the face lol

From the video i saw, it will be. Lining up your heals with telegraphs and such

Lawl totally no what you mean. I went from healing with a priest to healing with a druid so i could do some dps, as it was really boring healing for the most part especially if the tank was half way decent, unless you were raiding then it was bearable.

I will show the healers of the guild my gratitude by letting them heal me as little as possible while I kill things. Thank you healers all.

I can see lots of healers yelling at tanks in this game. "Dodge INTO the heal, not away from it! Where are you going?!"

Can't wait to stop taking blame for people not getting heals.

You are going to be the crazy DPS that runs into the middle of a boss battle without his pants. I use to heal a dps warrior that use to tank for me in WoW. When we were on clear content and breezing through he would unequip his pants, equip his 2h sword and just charge in there. Always fun times!

Crake already warned you about me? Damn. I would do the normal mode raid trash with just my belt, dancing helmet (it was derpy as fuck) and my gun. Heh.

I'm leaning heavily towards an Esper at this point, seems like a good mix of confusion/healing (thinking this will be the most similar to my shadow priest shenanigans). Deciding factor will likely be whether I want to be a Human Esper or Mordesh Spellslinger. And that will probably boil down to what type of moustache's are available
