Planetside 2 is a massive, team-oriented game. While we have a few people who enjoy playing it, some more than others, we are barely hitting half a squad(6 people). This post is merely for gauging interest in having an outfit in Planetside 2 and running actual Outfit Operation Nights with a certain level of strategy, tactics, and team gameplay that is above alttabme's super casual atmosphere. I am talking one or two nights scheduled throughout the week/weekend.
Based on interest this could end up being a single squad(12 people) which we will utilize to assist a larger friendly outfit(think of it as a guild alliance) or we could be able to field a whole platoon or more(48+) and work more as our own unit. This will require more than just myself as platoon/squad leader, especially if we have a platoon(4 squads). Everyone is welcome in this capacity.
I will be posting links to videos and pages and making some of my own very soon concerning general tactics and overviews of some weapons if we have enough interest.
While we play, and ESPECIALLY on Operation Nights:
-When a platoon/squad leader calls for "Tac Chat" on comms everyone clears idle chatter and waits for incoming move orders/intel.
-Know your directions, and learn your enemies arsenal. This goes especially for anyone doing recon in the air or on the ground. Calling out incoming forces requires a heading and type of threat. i.e. "Enemy tank column inbound from the west", "Multiple Reavers(aircraft) patrolling to the southeast of Elli Amp Station", etc.
-take time to plan your own certification unlocks out, and try out new weaponry.
-be familiar with different types of bases and their general layout and capture procedures.
-have a general awareness of lines of fire(FRIENDLY FIRE IS PERMANENTLY ON), moving with a squad and being vocal and communicative on Mumble or in game comms.
The previous points was just to give newcomers an idea of how things work in an outfit. This stuff is basic training for general Planetside game play. When it is not an Ops Night, varying levels of organization might occur but having general stuff like this down will help lead the Vanu Sovereignty to victory across Auraxis. In closing please post if you are interested in this sort of thing.
https://sites.google.com/site/planetsidetactics/home This is an in-depth site from the Outfit I currently play with and knew from the original Planetside in 2002. Some of it gets very detailed but aspects of these can be applied in many situations in Planetside 2.
http://planetside.wikia.com/wiki/PlanetSide_2_Wiki All you need to know including backstory, weapons, vehicles etc.
So overlooking the fact that almost everyone is an FNG we have 7 people so far. I included Corvus since he plays even though he is allergic to internet forums.
