Profession(Class)
Necromancer
What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I'm going to enjoy all aspects of the sPvP, and WvWvW I imagine. For me, coming home after work and putting in 4 hours or so at the end of the night in some form of PvP is ideal. Whereas, on my days off, I'm looking to get the bulk of the PvE/Personal storyline pushed, or participate in the WvW content. So a good mix of both, and quite committed on those days off to have 10+ free hours, for guild availability.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
I started "MMO" experience really as a MUDder. I playe a Heavily modded Diku Mud from '99 (through all my other MMO experiences) up until 2010. I enjoyed the deep complexity of MUD systems, and getting into the game and the immersion, in a wall of text... which was at times both intense and rewarding.
Also I played GW1 from a month after release until after the dervish changes and have my many fond memories of so many things that ArenaNet gave us. I loved Random Arena's and spent most of my time in Fort Apsenwood grinding as a kurzick Ritualist, holding that Juggernaut up against the waves of turtle soup and MM's with Aura of the lich. But my Fav experiences in GW1, has to be twinking Shiverpeeks and Ascalon Arena's. My most enjoyable time was being a part of some of those twink guilds that would roll through, going 70+ consecutive wins and leveling out the arena... That being said, I hope I don't come across as an ass
Played WoW, as we all did, hit it hard and fast and dropped it at 60 as a feral druid... That's all I like to say about my Wow experiences... P.s. no waaaaay could I stand against the twinks in BG's, was never that popular or rich, or in the right guilds, PvP based on gears suck. Said too much again
Finally I just like to add in quickly the other trash MMO's that got a play through: Lv: 50 Tempest of Set (way OP on release) - Age of Conan : LvL 33 Spiritmaster (the grind destroyed my faith in humanity - then i realized Korean's were computers and not human after all) - Aion; LvL 50+ Bio (broken minions and shit -everything-) - Tabula Rasa
I went on a bit there, oops..
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
Yes, in all forms... Though none, apart from in the MUD experience though, have felt like home, or family... I could invest 500 hours in a mud character and it would matter to some one, many others, and enemies, other than myself.
How did you hear about the Guild?
Been watching you podcast on youtube as they release. I was thinking about applying, but was going to wait until after the next beta event (As I just got my pre-purchase in time for Friday) - Though, hearing on your sPvP vid that you were filling up faster than I had expected, and really didn't want to miss out. Been enjoying your humor and "real" peoples attitude to the game, your guildies. MAkes you want to be apart of something.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
Not so chatty, though helpful when I can be, with knowledge or just being there for runs. What I think I bring though is someone willing to be a serious support mind, running the side meta events that require you to get the edge, picking peeps off the ground, not wanting to be the biggest hitter, the most damage, but the most reliable, and sometimes astoundingly amazing.. (see previous comments about FA solo healing Rt/Mo - missing my Vengeful Weapon now
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Will most likely have to be apart of a family guild, but they are all social, like my sis, who is mass wow fanboi noob, but will be playing GW2 on release, and her hubby and my other bro, and my son... but they all casual players with little to no experience, so I knida want some serious people who are actually commited to the game, and - have skill -
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
Know I'm an Aussy and before have noticed an aversion to us as felllow guildies, but I know you recruited at least one Aussy (Damian) and that gave me a bit of heart and confidence to apply. I'm a quirky guy, with a lot of varied experience, that balances a competent ability, and a resilience to see things through...
p.s. I want to put in another 3.5K plus hours into GW2, as I did with GW1. I want all my char slots filled with decked level 80's, just as I did (lvl 20s) in GW1. The Imperial Mesmer Canthan dragon outfit dyed all pink, was the shmexiest thing in any game. Ohh, and as I digressed, I just wanted to say, I'd love to have all these great experiences in Tyria along with you guys... and Hope you could benefit from having someone this committed be side you.
Thanks for just taking a look at this, and know you might all be full up already, but, here's hoping
