Dota 2 is a mixed bag. I wouldn't ever recommend playing the game to someone who isn't interested in intense competition. To say the game is difficult and frustrating is an understatement. I do love it, but sometimes I end a game so angry that its difficult to fall asleep for the next few hours.
If you're interested in learning how to play, I'd be more than happy to instruct. I have done a number of different coaching sessions and made a few videos that received a decent reception called "Pros in Pubs."
