In CBT5 every location had its own, static climate system, which effected the crops and the trees growth.

There were three types of climate:
  • Climate-Temperate.jpg
    Temperate
  • Climate-Dry.jpg
    Dry
  • Climate-Tropical.jpg
    Tropical
A locations climate could be checked by opening the map, and checking the icon on the bottom-right corner:

In CBT5, crops and trees had 3 growth phases before they could be harvested, the duration of these phases werent equal (according to Entaro).

There are more action what could be done with a plant:
  • "Planting" - planting the seed doesnt consume labor point.
  • "Pickup" - any plant could be picked up anytime (consumes 1 labor point), and replanted in another location.
  • "Watering" - after planting crops can be watered, watering the plant basically skipped its first phase of growth, so after the first phase is over you couldnt water it, could be done only once and consumes 1 labor point if done by hand, but if its done with a tractor it wont consume labor point.
  • "Harvesting" - Crops can be harvested, while the trees and bushes have more options, the fruit from them could be collected and also they could be chopped down for the wood, these actions consume from 1-5 labor points depending on the skill level.
Crops and trees growth depending on the climate, also the water plants and livestock growth depending on the climate:

So we should probably choose before hand what kinda zone we want the Alttabme kingdom to be in lol.

Hate to say it, but I would think a safe zone. When I played UO, I had a house in a Safe Zone and a War Zone. The safe zone felt better because you never had to worry about stocking your goods because no one could kill you and loot it. HOWEVER that said, that was different, you cannot FULLY loot in this game but you can kill crops etc.

So the question is.... do we want to build up and up or do we want a safe haven town.

The idea that your houses can be burned down makes me irk a bit as the casuals in us will not always be online for the invasions. And the hardcores in us will get upset when we don't get backup.

Being in enemy territory with a home in UO was better, the house could not be destroyed and you could fight from it. But since it can be destroyed and crops, layout etc can be destroyed I even lean towards the safe zone.. ALTHOUGH we could always try danger zone first then when we get annihilated move... but you don't get primo real estate by waiting :p

Gotta find the cool zones before others.

Well you can also settle on water now, per the March update to the game, so I am guessing houseboats or shoreline stuff. Also would it be feasible to find a nice off the beaten path safe haven close to the border of the warzone(if it works like that) and then build a castle or something in the warzone for battles. Worse comes to worse we could always have a town in the safe area and become a sea faring navy.

I would love a sea town. Where we could have our houses and easily access our boats. I had that in Uo it was awesome.

Personally, since combat seems kind of "meh," I'm most interested in housing and farming.
[Edit: Derp.]

I haven't looked into what the continents look like yet, but the idea of having houses in the safe zone and a castle in the war zone sounds neat. Preferably we'll have houses in/near a forest. I'm kind of thinking that our town is going to look silly since we'll all want different things- unless we're restricted by faction and can only have one type of house. Houses and farming ftw though. I don't know why I enjoy it so much, but I do. <3
