Best way to fix a faceplate/power switch?

Both of the USB ports on the front of my case have broken somehow. They now are retracted within the case and I can't use them unless I remove the faceplate, hold them in place, and then attach the device. As soon as I detach it, they get sucked back in.

On top of that, my power button sometimes will not turn my computer on. I'll push it over and over and finally it will go. Probably a short in it or something.

Do I need to buy a new faceplate/power button wiring, or is there an easier way to fix it?

Can you craft some sort of rudimentary lathe?

Or do you have a picture?
Maybe the solder holding the USB receiver broke?
Maybe the mounting brackets on the face plate need some repair?
It kinda sorta sounds like the whole face plate is loose. Might want to look at the board and case fasteners to see if any are busted or came apart.

The face plate is all plastic, it just pops on and off pretty easily.

The USBs were just snapped in via plastic holders and apparently some kind of really small, fragile part broke off and has left them loose. Maybe I could superglue them?

Ah HA !

Yeah if you can try to get it stuck in the original position.
Those little things won't work again unless in the same place.

Those faceplates might not even be terribly expensive. Just check online for one.
Alternative is making one of your own. Take some wood and cut some pieces out.
