I like GOOOOOLLLLD!
I have been watching the TGS youtube blood bowl tournament. Because of this I picked up the game and am playing the single player style to learn it. If anyone plays or wants to pick it up and play against me post and we can set up some games. Its pretty fun.

What is Blood Bowl?
Blood bowl is a turn based american football/rugby game set in the warhammer fantasy universe. It started out as a miniature tabletop game and got ported to pc. You can get it on steam.

If you do pick up either legendary or chaos edition. The only thing you get with chaos edition is 3 new teams so to save money feel free to pick up legendary.

Its a fun game especially against another person because it mixes skill, risk management, and luck to determine the outcome. It takes about 1hr to 1:30 to play a game and there is a built in tournament system so if we actually get enough people interested we can have a full season of games where everyone plays everyone and there are even playoffs for the title.
 
Its not as good as mutant league. It would be awesome if it was, but its close and still fun. The big difference is that its turn based. They do have a real time mode but it sucks.
 
It's one of the games I've kept installed on my PC. I've been dabbling with it in single player off and on, though I'm not very good at it. Ah well...
Count me in! Someone has to be on the bottom of the tournament ladder, might as well be me! ;)
 
Ah! I used to play the old Sega MLF game with a friend of mine. SO much fun to bribe the ref, then the other team kills the ref, so you get a jetpack and fly to the in zone. I probably haven't thought about that since 6th grade. Good times.
 
I have now played 3 games with the amazons, 2 games with the Norse, and 6 games with 2 separate lizard-man teams.

The amazons and all other high agility teams like the elves are not for me and I lose most my games with them. It's possible I could make a good passing team like wood elves work, but that's for later after I get my main team skills going.

The norse are a good all around team like humans and orcs. I won one and lost one with them. The middle of the road teams are blah for me so no go. The one good thing from the Norse games is that it showed me what my favorite play style is.

And that style is lizard-man. Lizard-men teams are a mix of two types of players with no in between. Strong armor/bashy/punishing players with no agility and high agility/fast/dodgy teams with no strength that get killed easy. Unlike straight up bashy teams that are slow, lizard-men can move all around the pitch if they can get free and if you keep the fast little guys out of harms way they can break out and score from almost the mid field line.

I made a lizard-man team and got through 4 games before I realized I was spending my skill-ups wrong. I won 2 lost 1 and tied one with that team. With that in mind I made a new team and have gone 2 for 2. Both wins spread out the spp that you use to level individual players and after some research I picked up some good skills.

I am only playing single player till I get a good feel for how to play, but after that I will be going online to play some multiplayer. Offer is still out there for anyone who wants to join me, let me know and we can set up match times. I even have fraps and video editing so we can get on mumble and talk trash while we beat each other up.
 
In my single player games I've settled with the Skaven, I go for speed/agility over strength/toughness.

Valikar has this game on Steam as well, by the way.
 
speed/agi teams take more positioning skill than I have. With the lizard-men I can have that when I need it but bash my way up the field as plan A
