Civilization Online just became a lot more exciting than ever before with the new Industrial Age which introduces new weapons and vehicles. A lot of people are still often confused about the genre and concept of the game, so I'm going to clarify it below!
Civilization Online is all about building and creating multiple cities from scratch. The world will reset every week and during this time players must join one of the four factions. Each faction must transition into various eras real-time without loading. Victory awaits those that creates the required building and speed up their research. The world is one big seamless world, so nothing is instanced, well except the tutorial. Players can choose to become a worker to help build a city or a military unit to help capture enemy cities or protect its Citizen workers. They can even become workers or engineers during offensive enemy invasions to build towers that will shoot cannons! Civilization is a large scale RTS RvR MMORPG where everyone plays big role in helping their nation grow.
A bit of changes were made to the game due to the servers being up 24 hours such as new limits on when factions can destroy enemy buildings. At around 7:00PM Korean time players are able to destroy buildings and capture cities at their disposal, this would last for an hour long. During 8:00PM the game is in a passive state and city walls become a safe zone and buildings can't be captured. However, you can still attack players in buildings that aren't inside player created roads, which is a safe zone for that city. At around 9:00PM the attack and capture phase begins again and with another hour break at 10:00PM, the same goes for 11:00PM Attack Phase and lastly a 12:00AM-6:00PM neutral phase again. In other words, players have a rather large window on growing their economy, building stuff, and training their military units. At nighttime IRL, they can go all out and prepare for a large-scale warfare battles against other players like in the videos above and below. The battle shown here only took place in one of the hundreds of player built cities in the game. Honestly, the war phase can become really hectic. You're faction is dominating on the front line to only realize later after pressing "M" for map that other factions was backdooring your main continent!
