What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I want to play the helpful socializer in PvE and possibly in PvP. I find MMOs shine best when you're playing in a conducive environment with people. I like to make people laugh and feel they can rely on me to get something done.

Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
I've played LOTRO for about 3 years, EVE for a few weeks, and WOW off and on for 5 years.

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
Yes, I was part of a guild, but only in LOTRO and WoW. My guild experience in LOTRO was great and something I have been looking for ever since. They took the PvE seriously but were casual about it. They were a friendly social guild that focused on the experience rather than items gained for individual characters. What I loved most was they would schedule guild events and stick by them, making sure everyone was having fun.

My guild experience with WoW was not as great. I wanted to see what the end game PvE experience was about, but I kept coming across guilds that expected only hardcore gaming time. I didn't like the elitist misogynistic attitude towards raiding. The guilds that did seem friendly community based only accepted certain classes with specific experience. The casual guilds I did come across didn't focus on end game PvE content. Though they were fun and enjoyable, but people would do their own thing in game. I wanted to feel like I was a part of a community that was working towards something. So I felt I was stuck between two extremes; random playmates or methodical elitists.

How did you hear about the Guild?
I was looking for videos on Youtube on guardians and came across the +50 Charrs one.

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I'm the class clown but am mature enough to know there is a time for silliness. (There was a time when I didn't know :p) I enjoy getting to know people, to see what life has had in store for them. Aside from fun times, I'd also be bringing a helpful attitude to your community. I'm an interpreter in real life and feel at my best when people are comfortable in a strange new situations.

Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Yes

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
My real life friends don't play video games, so I'm looking to find that strong friendship bond with people online. This game feels like it really shines when you are playing it with a healthy community. I'd like to be a apart of that.

Pardon the errors. I should have proofread but was too excited when filling the application out.

Comments!

So I did go through other applications from your forums before I applied. I mostly looked at what you didn't accept, which I figured would sound either obnoxious or unprofessional, or both. After going through the accepted applications, I saw that I could have written a ton more about me! I didn't want to take anymore of your time than needed for the application...but I'm gonna do that now.

I love games, I love language-- so much so I'm going to grad school for it (linguistics in the near future, good ol' nerdy fun), and I enjoy the company of good humored people..and I enjoy a good limerick. Reading around your site pervades good humor, as well as dedication at getting the most out of the game.

The games I play are mostly for the story they tell. I read a ton as a young grunt. I didn't have a computer until I got into college and I didn't have a game system until senior year of high school. Discovering video games was an explosion in my brain! Was a mess. My first game ever was Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Running around as a geriatric alabaster vampire trying to survive impractical crypts traps was like discovering Velveeta shells and cheese after Kraft's macaroni and cheese...I was addicted.
Onto LOTRO: I loved LOTRO, not only because I love the Tolkien universe, but it let me build my character based on 'deeds' I did for the world that would influence the traits of my character. You mean if I kill tons of menacing spiders for them hobbits, I'd improve my healing abilities? Hot damn! I loved the idea that what I valiantly (though the valor was indeed delusional, I'm 'killing' pixels to help other pixels) did set my character apart from the clones of bards running around. So I'm in GW2 for the vast stories being told and how I influence it. PvE events with giant worms, shamans, and liches is all I think about these days.

What I can bring to the guild: I have been fortunate to travel a lot (this is relevant, wait for it). I grew up on the Navajo reservation and in a border town. So I have a good grasp of rolling with the punches. I've spent a summer in Chile, Spain, lived in Germany for a year, checked out France and the Czech Republic while I was there, been down to Morocco, South Korea, and most importantly/recently--Mongolia (for a Deaf school project last winter). I've still got tons to learn when it comes to meeting new cultures, (relevance starts here -->) but the one thing I do see a trend of when meeting new people is laughter finds common ground. I love making people laugh, it creates a better world. Too cliche? How about, I want world peace?
I've had to learn to be flexible and adapt to strange and sometimes awkward situations. I'm a signed language interpreter seeking to get into linguistics revolving around the signed languages of the world. Being in between languages is where I am most comfortable because it's challenging and a service to people. Hm, makes it sounds like I enjoy eavesdropping! I just love the crap that comes out of people's brains and being the one to try to decipher it all.
I can bring an upbeat, constructive, and a laid back attitude to your guild.

Skills to impress you with: I can juggle. I can burn plantains. I can can spicy hot okra. I can conjure up nonsense.
What I can't impress you with: I can't chug Mountain Dew. I can't do a handstand, in water or out of it. I can't say no to green chili and mutton.

Thanks for reading up until this point -->.

I am completely irrelevant to the app process but..

Sounds like fun! Your whole language deal. I think I would enjoy something like that. Love traveling and all the culture that comes with it. I sold everything I owned when I was 18 and left the country to live in the UK for a while, and then in the EU.... in a van, loved Germany, France not so much... but anyways, good stuff. I am not multilingual though. I think for me, I am a big foodie, and I feel like food is something all cultures can share, so most of my travels are food oriented haha. Great profession you have chosen there. I always wanted to see Morocco! Didn't mean to like hijack your app thread or anything lol.
