GW2 Dirty ranger self rez trick

I like GOOOOOLLLLD!
The elite skill spirit of nature has an instant rez that can work on you if you time it right. It has about a 2 second cast time so if you can cast it and die within 2 seconds it pops you back up. I have also heard that it is possible to activate your spirit's on use skill while downed, but not sure if that is true or intended.

anyway in the video here the ranger hits the elite toggle skill right before death and pops back up.

Yeah, when I was using my spirit build last weekend I was curious how that would work. Glad someone tested it.
 
Cool. I wonder if this is an intentional skill use or a bug that's going to be fixed.
 
If i had to guess i think it will not be possible to use it that way when the game is released.
 
It may go live if the skill can only be activated when not in a downed state. To make it work you have to hit it right before death and then hope you time it right and there is no one else downed near you that the spirit decides to rez instead.

They could easily fix it by making it instant instead of 2 sec cast or make it only useable on other players.

I'll be testing ranger stuffs later today on the stress test and try to make it work.

I ran a spirit build a couple of times during the betas. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to use the elite pets revive ablity. I was under the impresion the elite skill 'Nature's Renewal' would revive all downed allies in the immediate radius of the skill? Does it actually only rez 1 person in it's radius? And if so, it revives randomly with multiple downed allys? :( If that's the case, its still a great skill but I had hoped it was multiple, because it would have been BOSS in WvWvW in a zerg mass death/mass revival. Oh well. Anyways, if anyone can clear this up much thanks.
 
not sure myself. got it to work twice on me and one other time when only one person was downed near me
