Received mine but I'm not able to register. It says I'm not typing in the verification code correctly but the thing is: THERE IS NO VERIFICATION CODE! =(

Probably will be fixed soon anyway :3

Yes, the MMO one. And we don't know yet, they're remastering the failed one. I'd guess that you probably won't enjoy it only because the gameplay will be a bit slower and a bit grindy, but if you get a chance try it out.
 
I think the game is strong for an MMO. Most MMOs seem to be one-hit wonders that people get bored of within a year if not a few months. There's something about FFXI that kept me coming back, that had me playing the failed FFXIV, and have me loving this iteration of the game. Normally I can't stand the MMO experience as it is too stale. I can't pinpoint it. The gameplay, lore, writing, artwork, and crafting/market system are properly balanced for my taste. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a game that will be easy in some areas and hard in others (to near impossible) that likes to explore, enjoys lore and artwork, and overall likes the Japanese RPG experience.

I'm a bit of a fanboy, though, so there's that.

I'm on Chocobo, but I can't play this weekend as I have a Dota LAN even I'm photographing.
 
Its really pretty. Sadly I didn't get to play it was much as I should've. But super pretty!

Hopefully I'll have a better computer next beta weekend to play it, since it was super laggy on my laptop. ):

I can't really see a spot for this game at the moment since their news is very small and everyone playing is under NDA. So when it is in a place where more info is released to the public and there is more interest here I will happily add a forum for it Roasty[DOUBLEPOST=1366237185,1366237082][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh woo wooo housing! :) God I hope all MMO's follow suit on this idea. Housing is a MUST god damn it!

I have ALWAYS had a major soft spot for MMO fishing. This is one of my most anticipated features as FFXIV is one of very very few to take fishing to a new level. FFXI had it right with the actual needing to play and fish during certain moon cycles in certain spots for certain habitats of fish. I love it. Plus it was SO profitable since no one wanted to do it haha.

And if you see new articles that are worthy of news, keep posting them in the gaming area. Eventually we will have a good source of information that will need to be organized and tr1age will want to organize it into it's own area :)

Sadly, the fishbots ruined it for a long time. They made fishing a minigame to combat that, and that was ok. When I last went back to ffxi about a year and a half ago, I tried fishing again. It was still the minigame, but the catch and skill rates were ridiculously stupid. I fished for 2 hours under the proper moon, etc and gained about .2 skill and caught maybe 4 of the fish I wanted. I gave up right there. I had lofty goals of the ebisu rod and everything, but spending hours and making no money or progress just made me angry.
 
Is this a tab target single target game or is it splash tab target or is it action combat?

And like some spells can do AoE damage. Looking through the ff14 wiki a conjurer has a skill stonera that does magic damage to a target and those around it. And like the lancer has a skill called leg sweep that deals damage to enemies in range. I don't know how updated the wiki is but yeah.

And holy fuck lazer sharp edged sound effects batman. Music is good but that sound is piercing. Why don't people take sounds seriously dammit!?!?! Seems like the ambiance is good too but if you listen to spells that pierce too long you ears go numb.

I strongly suggest that anyone participating in the game's beta refrains from posting any beta-related information in these forums. With threads like this one we are not only breaching the NDA, we're also jeopardizing the community's reputation.
So please, no more beta-related talk about FFXVI until the NDA is lifted!

(You may start a new thread discussing public information about FFXVI, but this thread will remain locked and will be removed from the forums within the next few days. I know that only a few posts in this thread were breaching the NDA, but I decided to lock the entire thread to make sure that everyone who was posting here understands that we need to take the NDA seriously.)
