I use a similar build to this one, Axe/Mace DPS. I use different traits, but if I were to progress to higher level fractals I would probably switch it around to something along these lines:

Weapons
That shows axe/mace but you'd probably want to use axe/shield. MH axe is good enough DPS on it's own. The shield's 4 is a good interrupt I guess, but the shield is really for its 5 - block everything (except the jade maw's attack, probably)? At high level fractals, I'll take that over a knockdown and a little extra DPS from a mace.
Ranged weapon can be whatever you prefer. I think bow benefits from this build a little bit more but I like the rifle too much to care about min-maxing my crappy-either-way ranged damage.
Traits
10 in strength is self explanatory.
20 in defense for 20% shield cooldown reduction and block reflection. The minor traits and stats are nice bonuses, but not central.
20 in tactics for the banner and shout stuff, really. So far using a banner in fractals hasn't been worth it so I'm thinking of an alternative. (the banner of discipline is used mostly for the 10% crit damage).
20 in discipline for fast hands, signet cooldown reduction, and heightened focus.
Equipment
Mix of Knight's and Berserker's. It's mostly berserker's - the toughness on knight's is just for a little bit of survivability. With good play and a good team, you should be able to live in most situations - but I've heard at really high fractals (20/30+) everything does so much damage it's not even worth it, so you may wanna go full berserker's.
For ascended rings/back I use (or plan on using) cavalier's stats - which is Toughness/Power/Crit Damage. Back slots don't come in berserker's but rings do, so it's up to you which you plan to use.
I use 6x runes of the soldier so FGJ and SOH cure an extra condition.
This build uses high crit chance and crit damage combined with the MH axe's truck-like auto attack to deal damage in the least sophisticated way possible. There's one caveat - unless you're doing an easy dungeon, using omnomberry pies/ghosts is basically a requirement. They're the ones that give you a 66% chance on crit to lifesteal. In my experience, it gives a noticeable difference in survivability.
Signet of Rage for trash and easy bosses.
Use the banner for the revive (only from downed state) for tougher bosses ( I use it on Lupicus, most fractal bosses. DEFINITELY Jade Maw (signet of rage is useless) and the dredge last boss, for example.)
On Shout Healing
I used to use shouts and loved it, but the damage output truly was lackluster. I only noticed this once I tried an actual DPS build.
Shouts are great all around, but shout healing is good for one thing, really: starting out and learning the dungeons/encounters. It helps your party and gives you some leeway, but at higher level fractals you're just wasting your time. BUT if you really like it, then they can work fine from level 1-10 or so. But at 10, they just can't pull their own weight anymore, especially with agony.
