GW2 Guardian sPvP Build

Will try them both and post my thought after, but why the focus and not the torch?With the 10% increase on burnin it seems a better choise?
 
The first build is pretty similar to what I use. I don't think Focused Mind is necessary anymore, though, since Judge's Intervention is instant/stun break out of the box. I highly recommend Tome of Courage over Renewed Focus, since its abilities are extremely useful at the times you would want to pop an elite. Guardian elites aren't that great anyway, certainly not in comparison to, say, mesmers.

It can be harder to sustain burning without a torch, but it's still possible with passive Virtue of Justice and even just the sword's auto-attack. Torch has higher damage, but focus has broader utility.
 
I agree with the torch sentiment, the added bonus to burning dmg is begging for torch. On the trait for Right Handed Strength, does the 15% chance apply to your offhands as well?

I love the trait that heals when you use each of your utility skills as they're all meditations... what amount of heal do you get from that?

(as an aside, I can't stand that build website and it seems a lot of people use it. It's not pretty and it makes me want to cry.)

Granted, I don't know how up-to-date they keep the site, but my god it's much prettier and easier to see what's going on o.o

The lack of torch is because I can pop F1 enough times to make it useful. The torch itself just doesn't do enough damage to be useful and really draws too much attention without as much benefits to group and yourself. The focus can mitigate damage in shitty situations and dish out spike damage and buffs.
 
When do you find yourself using F1, out of curiosity? I have very little guardian playtime, thus far, and was wondering about the usage of the virtues... kind of an experience thing to know when it's useful to burn it? Are you using it as burst damage in conjunction with other skills or just pressure? What kind of attack pattern, basically.

I use F1 in conjunction with BURST. I hit it then I hit the zealots blade #3 on sword. Does a TON of burst. I use F2 when I am in trouble along with F3 when I or my party is in trouble.

My F1 is almost always on cooldown in sPvP
 
I tried to use focus but really like the torch better, personal choise. The build works like a charm Tristan, thanks :D

I did too in the beginning. Try the Focus, and pop #5 when you are about to take a shit ton of damage from a warrior or melee. AND watch fuckyouup blades just fizzle and tell me if you like torch better :)
