Aw, man. Well I only started in WotLK, so I guess I'm a noob xD and I only started retail just recently. I've played on
so many private servers... probably got around 30-40 characters to 80 total (most with increased rates, some multi-boxing) and a half dozen to 85 once there were some decent Cata servers. I always had a weird thing about maxing every profession + a variety of classes so I mostly played casually and only got a couple characters decked out in nice gear. One PvP, one PvE, both Warlocks, different servers. My first character was a Forsaken Warlock - primarily Affliction - and that has always been my main. I steal souls and eat people! It simply does not get more awesome.
I just started playing on retail uhh... a couple weeks ago xD as a Demo/Affliction Zombie Lock. Demo got soooo many changes, it's crayzeh now. Especially Dark Apothesis. Can't wait to try tanking with it.
Anyhoo hrm, did healing as a Priest and Druid (PvE), could never figure out which I liked more so I didn't go too far with either. Both were fun but the people I played never needed healers so myeh, just dabbled. The Priest's burst heals are awesome but once they got Chakra they just rubbed me the wrong way. Thematically I like the Druid more, but I play Horde and the Horde Druid races are blaaah. I only really like zombies and belves. The Alliance have some nice races but in my experience Alliance players seem to be bigger assholes and Horde players are just more fun. I don't know why. But that helped get me stuck on Horde. Then did some tanking as a DK and Warrior and I did quite well with both but melee classes are meh to me. Rogue is a slight exception to that because they can render their enemies useless and well they can be crazy fun but eh, idk I just don't like having to be in melee range all the time. Also played Mage which was fun in PvP but kinda boring PvE.
But no matter what server or faction or expansion, I always main a Warlock. ^^
