GW2 Initiative

Ultra CHEZ

It's better with cheddar!
I've seen some discussion on the Initiative mechanic for thieves around the interwebz. Some people believe that it's not as effective as straight up cooldowns because you aren't able to activate as many weapon abilities in a short period. What are your thoughts? Do you think initiative management is a problem? Do you think the ability for thieves to spam an ability over and over is overpowered (*coughunloadcough*)? Having played a thief exclusively for BW3 I think the profession is in a good place right now, at least initiative wise.

Little late to reply, but I'll weigh in. I'm up to I think level 15 with my thief, and I haven't had many problems in the way of initiative management. I also use the "roll for initiative" utility skill to evade combat AND regain initiative. I do agree with you that being able to spam "unload" over and over again can be kind of "cheap" in that it does a GOOD amount of damage. If I'm really trying to drain a large amount of health, I'll spam unload, then roll for intiative, and spam it again, but first activate spider venom to add poison.
