Check out the sidebar of the website. There is now a Minecraft Server Status there with who is online and an accurate snapshot of your Avatar

Edit: found it on the forums page. I always have the news page as my front page and didn't see it there.

News page is not going to be the same as the forum page. Too much to load also we are re-doing
