Star Citizen Mounting Flight Controls...

...and setting up a Star Citizen Command Center. I figured I would post this on our new SC forums. Copy pasta'd from my EoA Facebook page that I originally posted it on.

A few months ago I posted how I had mounted my flight controls to my chair with VESA monitor mount clamps and some PVC piping. That looked fugly and wasn't working as well as I had hoped.
I stumbled upon a post from a fellow Star Citizen's on the official forums lauding a tablet mounting arm he had bought and used for his X52 instead. I took the leap recently and finally got it installed today.
First thing to notice is that it doesn't look incredibly sturdy, but God dammit looks are decieving. I haven't gotten actual flight time on it, but some severe stress testing shows it can take punishment. I might move the clamp down underneath the actual base of the new desk for even more stability but honestly it isn't needed.
Secondly, if you plan to use a mount like this, know that you will be taking a trip to Home Depot to get some proper screws to mount things properly. The X52 has predrilled holes for this purpose. So some longer screws and a few wingnuts later and it is firmly mounted to the padded tablet base. Both the clamp and base have padding already which is good.
The only downside so far is I can't buy a second one at the moment. I bought only one just in case it didn't live up to expectations and Amazon sold out. I will be contacting the 3rd party seller to see if they plan to restock as I need one for the throttle controls.
It's coming along..another tablet arm, another desk, a new computer with surround displays and some ambient LED lighting and the flight cockpit will be complete.

That is pretty damn cool. I always wanted to get into flight sim games but didn't want to buy the extra hardware to go along with it
