Take a tour of what might be part of the Archeage cash shop, a literal in-game tour!
Everything we’ve been able to interpret, read, tear apart, watch, and glean about XL Games and their anticipated MMORPG Archeage should be taken with slight grains of salt at the very least. Most of the information available comes from official videos that either have no voice over or rely on translation, fan videos, and fan articles, so there is certainly room for misinterpretation.
While the information seems to keep flowing, some of it can get pretty confusing. Some of it however, is just downright pretty cool. Take for instance that dragon photo below. That beast is a new addition to some of the PvE elements in Archeage. That’s not all either. In a recent video we were treated to what looks like a version or portion of what could be the Archeage cash shop.
This theory gets a little stronger when you translate the Korean from the YouTube video description. It simply says “July 17th Update – Enoteca.” Don’t feel bad, I had to look up the word too. It’s Italian for a wine store that gives demos and tastings in the hopes of making sales. Certainly a good description for what could be the same type of Archeage cash shop.
While most games feature a cash shop that is accessible via the game’s official website or some in game window for purchases, it looks like the Archeage cash shop is built right into the game as part of the game’s market. You certainly have to give them credit for immersion I guess. Walk in, take a tour of the newest mounts, browse through the latest in swimwear, or head on over to the vehicles department and get the prices for some high profile rides. Everything is on display and costumes are even worn by models so you can get the full effect of the outfit you’re thinking of buying.
I’m torn here so maybe you can help me. I can’t decide if I REALLY like this option because it totally adds to the immersion, or if the Arcehage cash shop kinda has me saddened by the very forward advertisement.
Right now I’m leaning towards this being REALLY awesome though, how about you?
