This might be a really bad idea but just putting it out there... Dirty old Warcraft the FREE basic starter addition where you can play up to level 20 I think it is? We can all roll something (same race) similar names (mum, dad, sister, family dog, dirty uncle, red headed step child, 4th cousin twice removed)

Also I got really excited when The Witcher 2. was mentioned but then realised there is no multiplayer.
I like the idea of this because we still have such a long wait, but maybe no more ideas from me

I would suggest a game called Allods Online. It's a free to play MMORPG that isn't half bad, and even has a thriving PvP community. The game fits in the WoW clone category, but it's worth checking out none the less. They also have an exclusive race, that the player can choose, allowing you to play as three little chipmunk-type characters. Super-cute!
