GW2 Yak's Bend is Nice!

Yeah, I commented in there somewhere. But we currently have all 3 orbs, so I'm wondering if the hacker just continued with it. Makes me pretty pissed to be on a server with a dowshy asshat like that.

Yeah. The botting/hacking in general is really getting ridiculous. If they don't find a way to curb it a lot better, they're going to start losing more players. :(

Yep. But as some of the comments said in that thread following Anet's post: "Ah, good, so just the ones in Kessex Hills." :)

To be honest I'm a little more concerned about the other world's depiction of Yak's as a whole. I really don't want to be dealing with the "Yaks must never win no matter what" world mentality and double teaming because peeps don't realize the server as a whole isn't at fault. This isn't the first time a supposed Yak has hacked the orb, and I doubt it will be the last.

I'm really hoping these issues will start to weed themselves out when server transfers are not free anymore. Most of the WvW problems will be solved with that, when people can't flee a server for doing wrong or jump on the bandwagon during a bad week.

I"m closing my eyes and trying to imagine this scenario playing out in WoW. Yeah, I don't see it.

Definite kudos to the community on Yaks Bend. Just goes to show, strong guilds can really pick up the slack when individuals and devs fall short. The level of accountability a good guild provides is HUGE to create a good gaming environment. Too many people take the anonymity of the internet as a license to behave in rude, anti-social ways. Hopefully, good communities will help curb that type of behavior.

And of course, the devs need to patch the giant holes that allow idiots who don't have the skills to play legit walk through walls.

My friend (who is on a server that recently faced us in WvW) recently accosted me on the fact that there were hackers in WvW. I told him that if they didn't have [ARX] then I didn't know them. Hope to see these hackers reprimanded (if they haven't already). I want to keep the integrity of our server, but more importantly remind other servers that we can crush them in WvW legitimately.

During the Blackgate vs Yak vs GoM matchup, we had our orbs hacked by GoM players, repeatedly, allowing them to barely beat us in the matchup. After this very sour experience, players on our server have grown a disgust of cheaters and hacks. However, it appears we have our own jackasses too. Yesterday, one of ours hacked Sanctum of Rall's orb in their borderlands. I was not there for this, as I spent most of the night in YBB, but I heard about it and was disappointed. There is nothing special about this story, as hacking seems to be a part of almost every WvW matchup now, and more idiots are learning how to do it. What is special is what Yak's Bend players did next. Yak players in SoR borderlands found a way to contact some of the leaders of Sanctum of Rall guilds and managed to arrange a cease fire, allowing SoR to walk into Ascension Bay and take back their orb unopposed. This act shocked the WvW community and me too. In return, Sanctum of Rall players allowed Yak to take the keep back again and restore it's upgrades. I thought this was really cool. Here's what's being said on Reddit about these events.

Edit: Oops! Sorry for missing the earlier thread. Thanks for the move, guys.

To be honest I'm a little more concerned about the other world's depiction of Yak's as a whole. I'm not sure where you're getting this perception. We have been double-teamed A LOT, but most of our opponents report very good things about Yak's Bend play. In fact, I'd say that the WvWvW community, as a whole, supports us. Prior to these hacking reports, we've been on the receiving end of most the lameness. In returning the orbs we've shown all those who care to know that we don't just talk the talk. We're not a Gates of Madness or Maguuma, which are two recent opponents of ours who are becoming almost universally despised.

On that note we are now getting rolled by the butt-hurt forces of red and blue lol.

That's bad news. We've been doing really well in this matchup. Our night players stomped Sanctum of Rall after they stole our takeover of Stonemist. During the middle of our siege, they sent an organized group into our borderlands, where they had been failing to make any headway all night, despite great efforts from both our opponents. They knew immediately that if we were at Stonemist, it meant we were no longer relentlessly patrolling our own border. Sanctum of Rall is clever. Meanwhile, at Eternal Battlegrounds and the battle for Stonemist more evidence of this was seen. SoR made it into the outer walls around the same time we did, and somehow learned that we would beat them to Inner. Spy, maybe? In a very nice play, they waited for us to break down the inner gates, immediately flanking us with a larger force than our own. Shiverpeaks was the beneficiary, though, as Rall wiped too as a result. Still, we had been outplayed. We ended up doing all the work and wiping, so we withdrew our small force and headed back for YBB to stop the bleeding. Most of SoR kept going for the weakened SM castle. We cleaned up our borderlands pretty easily, then deciding to get payback on SoR, taking their borderlands out from under them as they intended to do to us..., capturing their orb, and muting their successful siege of Stonemist. They might be butt-hurt right now, but it's because we are putting major hurt on whichever server attracts our attention. Between the three servers, Yak is proving to be the strongest, even in outmanned situations. It makes sense for them to team up when we start to take the lead. This has been a good one so far.

It's just some of the drama I've read on the forums. After the first Yak hack people were going bananas and some players seemed to have serious personal vendettas against our server. I have an irl friend who did to, but the whole giving back the orb thing seemed to settle it with her. I do however really like the match-up we got. Thing's have been competitive and exciting without a lot of one sided domination (can't really help the focus fire on ybg though, it was bound to happen.)

Yup. I can't lie,... I've wondered why we are always the ones fighting it out with both teams too. The others take long breaks from challenging eachother in coordinated efforts to deal with us. I think it's making us stronger, though. Hopefully, our players don't get too discouraged, because every matchup can't possibly go that way. If I was going to take a guess at why this is happening, I'd say it's because Yak's Bend is an attack strong server that is somewhat of a loose cannon, and not because they hate us. When we hurt them badly enough, they become terrified of more Yak attack and ignore the 3rd party.

Arrgghh.. I really wanna play some WvW right now! I'll be so glad when this week is over and I can play a bit.
