ALTTABME Minecraft

Not sure what I did, but I got in!


Edit: if anyone is available to play I could use a little company, it's dark and rainy! I've hopped on Mumble too

Edit 2: Done playing for now, had to hop off... There was an Enderman near my little underground hut I made, I could hear it occasionally. Those things scare me to death when I'm playing alone.

Yes, Minecraft monsters scare me, I'm a wuss, lol
 
Hopped on after work. Started work on a temporary safe house and a mine.

Think you could un-protect spawn so we can do a little cleaning up? :p
 
Not positive how to unlock the spawn area but I'll take a look at the configs.

I was able to edit all around the temporary safehouse area. I kinda like the initial spawn area being rugged.. It's like you get dropped into a jungle next to a stream. :)

Edit: The only way to unlock the spawn area that I could find was supposed to be in the server.properties but I don't see it. I can try adding the setting, but it might crash the server for a few.
 
Not sure why, but I'm getting the same error again, needing the mods even though I got in fine last night finally, not sure what to do, but I'll keep trying

I'm really not sure what to tell you. I'm not having any problems, and it seems Claark got on fine as well. :|
 
Going to backup my technic launcher and my server to try and update both of them, using a video tutorial since that's how I figure out how to do things, lol I'll have to attempt to login later as I have to head out for now.

Are you using the server that is 3.1.3 or 3.1.2?

I get confused on those numbers but that way I know what to update my server to

v3.1.2 which is the recommended version, as per the Technic people.

I was gonna say. (Before your edit) Heres the info:

odd that its not there though.




And for those with connection problems. In the Teknic launcher, there is an options button. In the options menu, chose "Clear Cache" it resolves 90% of all connection issues

Yeah, I added it earlier and it seems to have worked (nothing apparent blew up). Just don't flatten the spawn area completely, I kinda like the little jungle lake. ;)

Thanks for the connection info for Lilo, I had no other ideas what to try.

His download is fine, it just uses adfly which is a really annoying ad wrapper, but something like adblock removes the ad. ;).

It's the highest resolution 128x version, so if your computer doesn't like it, I can put up a lower res one.

Note: the first time you load the texture pack, it will seem like it locks up, just let it process, it'll finish. It also adds a little bit of load time to the game initially when loading, but nothing major. Worth it for how cool it looks, imo. :)

Sorry for this, but the host they had us on was pegged at 100% CPU use, so they're moving us to a lighter load host. Should help resolve any lag you might have had. Nothing lost in terms of world.

I'll update when the move is complete and server is back online.


Here's the graph, times in GMT, so I think it got pegged at about 5:30 AM EST.

SERVER IP UPDATE: 64.34.185.14:25565

A little bit of bad news though. Someone (possibly) built something crazy last night or early this morning, which caused the world file to peg the server CPU usage at 100%. If you built anything last night or this morning, we had to roll back a few hours (midnight EST I believe), so you lost it. No way around this. If you did build something during this time, try to figure out a different way to build it or something, because it caused the world to go nuts. :'(

I run adblock, ghostery and noscript with firefox. When I first loaded the page, all I saw was an adfly banner (and no download popup). Even after turning off adblock and allowing scripts (which I later got in trouble for >.<) it still didn't work- it either gave me an error page or some french 404 thing. Not sure why. *ponyerr:

Thanks so much for the mirror! Hopefully this laptop can run 128. I'm pretty sure it can.

Happy to help. Yeah, it's definitely a shady looking ad wrapper, I hate those. (the ads are even worse, in the install video above, the guy doesn't have an adbocker so you can see it.. ugh!)

If the laptop get's angry at the 128x, I'll put up a 64x or 32x for you.
