Ahh, yeah, their plans are looking like Phase One to import characters, but Phase Two will have a wipe from all Phase One Characters. I really wonder how they will work with the old characters and new characters.... Maybe I was wrong that they are doing a full wipe?

Also, note the timeline. Even with "Subject to Change", they are showing a 16 week MAXIMUM gap from Phase One start to Launch. That's showing a possible August/September Re-launch at the latest for the current timeline.

Hah, not a valid excuse! I ditched consoles after PS1 as well, but until then I played plenty of FF games on the SNES and the PS1 (the hugely successful FF7 on the latter, no less!) *ponysmile:

Thanks for posting this. I went all in when I heard the original XIV was being released and it was a massive disappointment for me. Hopefully SE has straightened things out this time.

FFXI had housing, but it wasn't like UO housing and therefore you probably wouldn't have liked it.

Also:

- Phase 4 is scheduled to be an open beta.
- The PlayStation®3 version will be available.
- Characters created during this phase will be carried over to the official release.
* Circumstance may necessitate the deletion of character data.
- More than 20 Worlds will be available.
- All character customization options will be available.
- Version 1.0 characters can be used.
- The Duty Finder (player matching feature) will be implemented.
- The Level Sync feature will be implemented.
- Stress testing will be conducted on the housing system.
- Testing will be conducted on the PvP Coliseum.
- Benefits such as early access may be offered between the open beta and official release.
- Version 1.0 service account holders will be able to download the commercial ARR client
free of charge.
* Those wishing to play on PlayStation®3 are required to purchase a copy of the game for
that system.
* Please access the Beta Tester Application Site (opening early January 2013)

I heard about this pretty recently after it went open and applied. I'm not a huge Final fantasy fan, but I did like XIII and have played some of the older ones. I've heard about and seen footage from the older FF MMO as well as the first iteration of this one. I'm curious to see what happens.
