Introduction to Elder Scrolls Online

I don't know.. I'm really on the fence about this game, and leaning more towards skipping it. I feel as if its basically Skyrim with the option to play multiplayer. That being said, multiplayer (or co-op specifically) is exactly what I think Skyrim needed.

I just don't see enough ingenuity (for an MMO) to make this game unique. The only thing I think I'd really like is using the perk system (and your choice of weaponry) to really create a unique class and character. I think this would be counter-acted though as there will inevitably be 'prime' builds (and god-forbid they don't let you reset your perks like in Skyrim).

My point being is that its all fun to describe a Tank with a longbow or a Stealthy healer, but at the end of the day Specing into a Sword and Board build will provide better tanking (as it did in Skyrim) and you'd probably be better off picking Spellcasting related perks if you're going to heal. I used cheats to reset my skills/perks in Skyrim but always ended up finding that the more traditional builds always worked the best.

Guess I need to wait for a beta though :p

One 'word': Meh

Ok, a few more then. Looks pretty, demo looks interesting, but I need more than this to get me interested in an MMO. I want to know monthly fees, I want to know specifics on systems and quests. For example, The Secret World really intrigued me with it's awesome lore, artwork and core concepts...but when I got a beta invite and played it? URGH! Sloppy combat implementation, hordes of deeply boring enemies and...body fetching. This is 2012 people, bodies fetch themselves. So I'm not prepared to be excited about an MMO until I hear some concrete details on mechanics.

Back TES online, it does sound like they're bringing in some GW2 PvP elements in their faction based warfare combat, and the a similar system for dynamic events, but how will they be implemented? I'll wait and see, but it better be bloody spectacular.

Also, do we get to be a werewolf/vampire/guar/skrim/kwama/cliiff racer?! etc...

I've never played an Elder Scrolls game, so the name and the promise of lots of lore isn't enough to get me excited. It looks pretty though.

"Not competing for resources... Everyone gets equal rewards..."

Seems like GW2 is already influencing the MMO genre.

You cant read a map...I ignore half your posts...fair trade =P. I played Rift a lot on release, decent game. I think its F2P now.

Nope not F2P unfortunately. And it is RIFT so housing makes me no happier to play it lol

I just can't stand Rift's art style. Armor, mounts, races, and creatures all look so stupid! Other than that, its a fantastic WOW clone. Game is well polished.
