I absolutely loved playing pokemon. I still do. I'm not ashamed of it. I had a sweet pokemon team on Pokemon white that I competed with. I'll take on any challenges for proof. But yeah. The video really hit me with childhood memories. I even went out today and bought Black Version 2 just to give myself something to fiddle with until the new ones comes out.
Hell, I even went to a pokemon convention in the year 2000 in Boston. Played in a tournament and did really well. I even had an official Mew for the original Red and Blue games. Legit from nintendo itself, the very first "special event" pokemon in the US. I still have the certificate of authenticity (somewhere). I played with my friends Max and Mike (not Superduck). It was awesome. We did everything we could and all of us officially had 151 legit pokemon in our original Red and Blue games. It was awesome.
Then Pokemon Silver/Gold came out. OMG we were excited. But the continuation of these stories get dull. We kept playing, but we weren't quite as excited as before. Maybe because we were getting older. But we all still played. Still loved it. Just no conventions. No crazy trades, or loopholes, or "GOTTA GET THAT RARE POKEMON" feeling.
Do any of you have good stories / memories of the pokemon days? Excited for X/Y? WANNA BATTLE?
