Lol gaming ADD eh. Idk how many games we can handle at once...BL2/Rift/UO...sounds like a lot :p

What is UO about ?

I will continue with Rift as I wanna give it a real shot. But UO is just one of those nostalgic games I will always love. Problem is it is SOOO NOT new player friendly. The people who play are friendly to new players though. But the game itself is a bitch and half. Now if we played it legit, I.E. not macroing skills up, all making newbies and fighting taming chopping trees crafting etc, and only playing together, it might be a fun experience. The game is HARD if you don't macro and the learning curve is rough, and the game is almost impossible to play without a macro program called Razor. That being said though, once you get the tech shit out of the way and grasp of how the game works, it still provides for a lot of fun. It is a game though where YOU make your own fun. There is no such thing as QUESTS. See a bunny, beat its ass with a dagger, gain fencing skills. Want to talk to people? Find them, no global chat. Want a house? Make money, find land, plop it down. Need to trade, go to a town and yell out loud what you have for sale.
 
UO was fun like a million years ago. I don't think I could go back to it, even if I did have fun that many years ago. Graphics are whack yo! I'll pass.

Yeah graphics are dated but I still like that overhead view. Graphics are still better than minecraft haha. The constant footsteps when you walk do get old very fast these days haha. dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum of a horse :p

(luckily you can turn it off)

I have played on a few servers here and there since I stopped after 10 years. Hybrid is my favorite private server. Lots of people Britain bank still packed tight, and no trammel.

I might suggest a friendlier Trammel type server if we all played because PVP in that game has gone to shit, 100% macroed now and if you don't have the years of experience figuring it out, or stop playing for even a week you become pretty bad.

Yeah, I guess I still don't get that game :)

But anyway, the graphics in the 2d client still hold up. Even the 3d client isn;t terrible if you want a little more realism I suppose. But the colors are more stylized in the 2d client.
 
Tristan got me to roll with him for a night or two in UO while we were eagerly anticipating Guild Wars...err...Solo Story 2. I have to say if he wasn't there I would have quickly logged off and thrown my computer out the window. It is not friendly to someone who NEVER played it before.

Not even close. The more I think of this the more I think this is a TERRIBLE idea if we don't roll out in a GIANT group and just play the game without mods, addons, and just explore :)
 
I've never played it and I'm a person who gets easily frustrated with overly complicated games, so I should probably steer clear from the sounds.
 
I don't think I've ever played UO. I'd give it a shot on a private server I guess. How would that work?
 
Yeah this is a terrible idea with only 1 person who has played it before haha. :) Trust me saving you all pain. I have nostalgia that gets me through it, you don't :)

lol, I think I know what you mean. I went back to play about 6 months ago and there was a pretty awesome hit of nostalgia, although soon after I was left without much to do. I think the game itself could still work, but there is no one left on the official servers, and I've heard similar things about most of the unofficial ones (I'm no expert there though). I think my nostalgia reservoir has been replenished for the time being.
