Starting out I am going Sci just to get into the back story a bit after that explorer and then a settler... I need more free time.. mmm maybe I will play the lotto.
I don't plan on sticking with any one path. I have a lot of Alts in Wow ,SWTOR, and Gw2. Getting to max level in any game is easy when the story and game play are great. Solid content always intrests me ... sticking to just one path/class won't give me what X class/path combo can do in pvp/pve I like knowing the limitations of other players when trying to beat them either in dps in pve or trying to one up people in pvp battle grounds.
depending on what the path perks are I might have to make multiple same class/path combos to see how it may effect over all game play.

I feel like settler may get old quick. With nothing useful todo. Hoping not though since it is something I enjoy.

Jumping on the Settler bandwagon, this is my main concern as well. I love playing support, but without a plethora of useful, fun things to build this could easily become a tedious class to play. BTW, I hope you won't mind if I put a house of ill repute next to your bar.

I read this to say you'd be putting a HORSE of ill repute next to his bar. I think it's an exceptional idea.

I don't know why but I found this hilarious. Just imagined a horse with a black wide brimmed hat and a cigarette hanging out of it's mouth leaning on the side of a bar.

I was going to say "Settler Yay for building stuffs!" But that has been said too many times. Based on the amount of settlers I will probably choose something else. Don't get me wrong I will have 4 alts with 4 different paths so I will play all of them, probably just won't be my first now. My first and probably main will be a Granok...so he might as well be a Soldier! We'll need more of those to spawn huge groups of baddies to beat down.

I'm thinking something similar. Tough to decide though, Hmm, I like building things, but I also like destroying them.. so it might depend on where there is demand. I really like how a small group with different paths can complement each other, it certainly encourages small groups to run together. However, a couple soldiers would make for some fun spawns I bet (does it work like that?! lol It might just be based on numbers alone, but at least that means more spawns)!

I'm wondering if anyone is planning on switching to soldier in lieu of being able to summon massive 'bosses'

^This. At first I really was interested in Settler. Love the idea of building stuff but I'm afraid it might not be as cool as I'd like, if everyone already has built everything and I'm just adding onto a timer of how long it stays around. I really enjoyed exploration and jumping puzzles in GW2, so part of me likes the explorer as well. Then there is the smashy smashy and assassin in me that likes the Soldier and being able to summon bosses for us. Scientist isn't too much of my thing, but I am an achievement whore so who knows lol.

Probably a tie between Settler and Soldier, depending on what Velorra does.

I still have my eye on explorer, but just like with the classes, I need to get hands on to really choose anything.

In GW2 I was set on thief till I played it. Every other game ever I hated playing ranger, but once I played it in GW2 I was hooked.
