Heyo! I'm Mal, longtime gamer, longtime forum poster. I just stumbled onto this pretty rad community. Definitely seems to fit my style of humor. Plus, you have more Off Topic-ish forums than I know what to do with, and that makes me squeal in delight like a little girl.

I play or have played just about every single MMORPG in existence, even some that I'm not proud of. Hopefully I'll be playing WildStar with you all, as I have no plans or obligations to any other guilds and you guys all seem like some cool cats.

And on a final note - I LOVE this website. The design is so sleek and very well done. I'm a professional web designer, so I always take note of guild websites. Normally they're awful and they make me sad. At best they're generic templates. This, though, is sexy!

Anyway, welcome. Have a look around, let us get to know you. And yes, we are actually a community and not a "community" that many like to tote these days with their enjin built guild websites ;P We have put a lot of blood sweat and tears into the site as well with out own achievement system as an example :) So thank you for the shout out.

I'm a freelance web designer. Done mostly guild sites and fansites, but I just recently made it my actual job and it's starting to take off :) Just re-did my portfolio so that I could incorporate a blog, you can see it at www.twistedjackal.com if ya want. Some fansites I made are www.whatthenexus.com (wildstar) and www.kupwned.com (ffxiv).

What's this XenForo platform like? I keep seeing more and more gaming sites with it. I usually use WordPress, but it's really bad with forums. Does XenForo require a lot of programming or are there widgets/apps for it?

uh oh. gonna get sucked in. Actually without knowing a thing about how the insides work, zenforo seems to be pretty decent for forums.

IT IS A BITCH. And Requires a ton of Programming if you want it to look like this and not like the generic look. But I like it still. Lots of fun!

Also wordpress forums make me nauseous :p But I do love me some wordpress themes. There is a link for Wordpress and Xenforo.

Aw that's a shame. I do mostly design stuff, I don't touch the development part. I've seen XenForo sites with wikis, user-submitted guides, and just all kinds of cool features. But if those are all custom coded apps then I couldn't make them - all I do is make stuff look pretty and shiny lol.

And yes, those WordPress forums are horrendous. I don't know how half of them even call themselves forums. The best forum app I've seen is the one I have on kupwned.com, and even that one is missing a lot of common forum features.

So what end of web design do you do?

All with heavy emphasis on Design/CSS/ and the like.

I know basic stuff when it comes to coding, but in general I am a total idiot when it comes to that shit. The achievement system you see here was coded from scratch by kbambz as well as the front page. I did the design, she made it work.
