Yeah, seriously. I got the winning matches for the Masters series right here. It actually is quite impressive.

That's how the start of the match goes. But think of RPS, and expand it to 30 categories instead of 3.

The commentary helps so you can understand whats going on. Its not all in English on screen.

These guys are tough. I didn't realize the world championship was done in a 2v2 format.

Yeah, VGC is done in a 4v4 doubles format. There are also 3v3 Singles (Less innovative, stale meta-game) and 6v6 Triples (meta never solidified really).

I'm excited for X and Y. The new fairy type along with I'm guessing 100+ pokemon, and the new Mega Evolution is really going to make the meta something crazy for a while.

I've been holding off getting a 3DS because of the price point and I wouldn't really play it all that much. This will be the first generation I won't have a system for and it makes me sad.

Target has a 3DS XL for 175 this week. Something to consider, especially since the Black model just came out and is included in the deal. I already have a special edition Zelda 3DS, but been debating on picking up on this deal myself.

PLUS - Global release for X/Y. October 12th (Saturday), and can be downloaded onto the SD Card. Buying a 32gig SD card for like 16 bucks was the way to go, it can hold like 15+ 3DS games, no mess with cartridge. Plus Caroline doesn't always know when I buy new games when there isn't a cartridge >_>

Way out of my price range right now. I need a new PC first and I haven't even started saving.

Interesting that is the same day as NYCC. I am definitely going to be seeing tons of people playing it. I will be getting very jealous.

Yeah I totally agree - although I wish they would have called Fairy-type something else. It being super-effective against Dragons was a good idea in my opinion since dragon-types are really overpowered in terms of type-advantage/disadvantage. Mega Evolutions are pretty cool, although it basically makes it Digimon haha. I do like the aesthetic changes to the Mega Pokemon as well.

Also, MegaKangaskhan's ability is broken. It makes it so that MegaKangaskhan can hit twice in once turn (with whatever move it uses). Just think what could happen if you hacked SelfDestruct onto it haha.

Kangaskhan can't use SD, and I have a STRONG feeling that the second hit won't hit as strong (because it's literally the child hitting). I'm guessing a 125% boost in damage with a focus sash / sturdy break.

But normal types are atrocious with lack of STAB (normal moves don't get the type bonus) and being easily susceptible to fighting moves (which EVERYONE will have one due to rock/steel/ice/dark/normal weakness to it, it covers too much).

Haha, that's why I said "hacked" SD onto it. That's a good point though. I guess it would make sense that there would be a damage reduction since it's the child hitting the second time. Also yeah, there are only a few normal-types good enough to actually use in a competitive battle. I remember I would always choose Ursaring. Guts Ursaring with a Flame Orb would just wreck everything.

My go-to against an Ursaring would most likely be my recover/protect/leftovers high defense/HP Jellicent.

STAAAALLLLLLL

Haha, that would definitely be a good plan. I haven't really been into competitive battling recently but once X/Y comes out I'll probably get back into the swing of things.

Do it. Once it launches that's all I'm going to be doing for a few weeks.

Oh yeah, same here. Can't wait to get me some new Ghost-types! It's my favourite typing. I freakin' love Honedge (the Ghost/Steel sword-looking Pokemon) and also that.. sudowoodo-lookin' Grass/Ghost-type Pokemon. The designs are awesome and I'm mostly a defensive player so the Steel second type on Honedge is really interesting me.

Oh, also I'd be down for some battles on this website if anyone else is! We could set up a tourny or something! Haha.

NERDS! I love how serious Pokemon is. My friend does competitive battles and he spends weeks EV training crap. What happened to the fun? *onycryy:
