I just wanted to chime in and say that you guys are stuck in a polar vortex! (mainly because polar vortex sounds cool...).

Did pretty well actually. I was surprisingly not cold, although our power went out a little after 5:30am (when I was going to bed) and came back close to 8.

Still, really cold outside even now. I'm really not used to this.

Same here. It's bearble for me though because I was in Chicago a couple weeks ago. Still a different kind of cold there. I live near North Hills and was amazed at how many people were still out to dinner and all late last night.
