April-17-2013 update!
The World has been destroyed... again... :alien11:
The world was reset to a fresh start on April 17th, 2013 and is now back online. Let's punch some trees! We're running Vanilla 1.5.2 this time around, so no mods needed!

The initial starter settlement, named Four Corners due to it's biome convergence characteristics, is close to the initial spawn point and you can't miss it. We encourage everyone to build one personal structure in the starter area, but it's by no means required. There are free tools and food located in the structures already.

Rules
Pretty simple, really.
- Please don't destroy other people's stuff, steal shinies, or grief.
- Please don't add on to other people's creations unless they've OK'd it (some people have pretty big/intricate plans for their build sites).
- We use the server for the community so please do not disrupt the ecosystem that is being built.

We'll likely set up a "community build" area for a group project, like we did with Sky City in our first world.

Texture Pack

I will be using a texture pack, Sphax PureBDcraft. You've probably seen it on Yogscast or other MC streams. Do you have to as well? Of course not :), but I'm going to be basing my personal designs based off the look this pack gives (128x version) so I figured I'd mention it in case people wanted to try it.


Why? I think the stylized textures look great. (install like any other texture pack)

Don't forget to patch with MCPatcher or to install Optifine!

As Zakis said, he and I have been playing Minecraft for a long time. Are you interested in trying out any mods? Currently I'm a fan of the Tekkit launcher, but vanilla with guildies would be really cool too.
 
I've got access to a bunch of Bukkit mods apparently, not sure what else. will get you guys added, we're playing right now, hop on mumble if you want to get in and you're not on the list yet (requires restart via the hosting thing).

At the risk of sounding like a giant fuckin' carebear, please don't do anything destructive to the Sky City. We're just building stuff up there, taking our time, and chilling out.

I'm planning on doing some events with some mods which will allow us to break stuff, etc... but this initial round, Sky City is a pacifist community. I mean, think of the baby chickens!

To assist in Nahku's preservation of the Sky City I will be preparing some goodies in Jungletown for those looking for a quick break from building.

First on the list is a spleef court. :cool:
 
In the interest of keeping things fresh, I'll probably be switching things up on the server from time to time (with our original map maintained in a backup). Maybe run a few events, PvP maybe, whatever helps pass the time until GW2.

Apparently the list of available mods is larger than I had previously thought. I'll probably start with Bukkit since there are plenty of options to choose from with it. I'm open to suggestions. Here's the full list of Bukkit addons: http://plugins.bukkit.org/
 
some mods to check out: equivilent exchange, red power 2, buildcraft, industrialcraft, portal mod, forestry, mystcraft, thaumcraft.

check out direwolf20 on youtube. He has some long running lets play series and probably the best mod spotlights on minecraft in all of the internet.
