I'm thinking about kicking my twitch game up a bit and pushing for some actual followers. That being said, I want to start diversifying what games I'm streaming and I would also like to get some people to interact with on mumble. This would be late night streaming mainly, so I'm looking at my late night tabbers to step up. I also need some suggestions for games that would be good to stream and that we could play together. I'm feeling pretty good about my setup now, so I just need some content worth watching.

So, if you are interested or if you have any game suggestions hit me with your reply.

Having a good mic is preferable.

The MOBAs tend to get a lot of attention if you like playing those. Newly released games also tend to do well (there were lots of people watching midnight releases of Assassin's Creed and Dragon Age).

I'd join you if I was a late night Tabber <3 But I'm one of those pesky day walkers.

MOBAs are definitely the games that pull the most viewers at the moment but another thing to look at is free to play games that you can play with any viewers that you may get, that'll get people wanting to come and either play, or watch and try to come and be on stream. Of course that takes a bit til you start pulling numbers, but it will be something that will get people sticking around.
Another big ticket item is Hearthstone, its more of a laid back stream to watch, but just about anyone can do it and I'm sure you could keep it interesting. With hearthstone you can do your arena runs or even do semi show matches against other tabbers and even set up some sort of tournament for fun.
Diablo is a bit of a dying genre for streaming but could be interesting if you get a group going and start spicing it up a bit doing something like hardcore season runs.
The only other thing that I can think of is just finding your own little niche thing to play, like how you were playing splunky in the past, but that is much harder for trying to get started.

Gary's mod games like trouble in terrorist town and prop hunt are amazing for a group of bros to play and bullshit and have fun. You could also do some single player survival games like don't starve.

I think you should stream neopets. I think that's an untapped market.

I keep telling him to stream smite, but he rage quit after a joust with a loki who literally just 2'd and made a scary face until he was fed enough to one shot us.

You need to remember to stream something that will not have you behind 1,000 other streamers. So I DO NOT recommend starting with a MOBA, especially if you aren't a professional player, or close to. I would start with a niche game or something that you enjoy and see what comes of it.

Yeah MOBAs are not really my thing.. I was talking to zorph and Dup about streaming some smite every now and again, but that's about as much as I'd do with that. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think the first step is to start streaming more often and diversifying my games until I start to notice I'm seeing people show up. I like the idea of playing with viewers too.

Also, anyone have any experience with capture cards and the like? I want to get in to the console streaming game

Yeah I think niche is gonna be key for me

What are you playing right now? Maybe we can help you pick your first game to stream :)

I bought one of these a few weeks ago with the hopes of console streaming down the road: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007UXJ6LE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've read good things about this one, but there are others out there. I know this one is marketed towards Xsplit users but I would be surprised if it didn't work with OBS.

I'm probably going to need an external, I think I'm out of pcie slots. I haven't been playing much other then WS and a bit of smite every now and then. Adding console gaming would be a plus for that

Avermedia is probably the best capture card on the market currently. I use an El Gato and really like it. A nice one will cost you around $150-200. You don't really need one on the console though since you can stream directly from your PS4.

Also, it is my experience... from my stream and seeing others' viewer count when they switch games, that you suffer when you create a base with a particular game or game style and then change. I used to average around 20-30 viewers, with a peak of up to 60 when I would play CoD. I haven't seen one person that used to be a regular in my stream while playing CoD, when I have streamed WS.

While I think diversifying is a good idea to find something you are passionate in streaming and can do daily, I would not recommend that if you are trying to build a substantial viewer base. Except for rare circumstances, most viewers are more loyal to the game or game style than they are the actual streamer itself.

Yeah, even leathalfrag sticks to indie games, even though he plays quite a few of them.

True. I don't play League anymore but will watch Snoopeh play anything cause he's so dreamy http://www.twitch.tv/snoopeh/profile

There are a few streamers on my list that are just entertaining. Sure, I started following them for a specific game but if they are fun then I'm down for whatevs.

Well my plan was to play around with a few games and see what I enjoy streaming/what gets viewers and take it from there. I'm not pro status so I need to work out where my niche might be.

I need to double check my pci-e status; I think I'd prefer an internal for it's latency so if possible I'd do that. I forgot I upgraded my mobo so there may be a slot I forgot about.

Also, no one watches WildStar streams lol.

Yea MMOs are tricky since they only have a small % relative to the twitch demographic of e-sporters.

I think WoW is the only MMO that's in the top 5 games being streamed whenever I login, but that's cause WoW.

Let us know if you need viewers to test out your channel. If it's a weekend I'm more likely to be awake in the middle of the night <3

The thing about watching people play mmos is that you only want to really watch BGs and raids. No one wants to really watch you quest or do dailies unless the mmo is brand new
