On your personal details page, if you try to upload an avatar larger than 10 kb, it'll tell that it's too big.
Although 10kb is WAY too small for any good avatar, the part that bugs me the most is that the error tells you that avatars under 50kb are allowed. The forum's a liar...

Maybe it is because you can't upload and have to use a url?

Nah, there's only two options: Upload and Gravatar.
What I'm trying to say is that the text is pretty misleading... It took me about 20 minutes to figure out that the limit was actually 10kb and not 50kb.

Hairo appreciate you giving me more info on this. No idea really how to change that message however. I will look into it.

It appears there's no way (as far as I can tell) to fix this.
