Beta starts next Monday or Tuesday 7/30 or 7/31

I didn't sign up for the beta until a month or so ago, so I'm not too optimistic about getting in anytime soon. I think they really have the right idea going F2P for this kind of game, since the majority of its appeal stems from the enormous battles. Never played the first game, but this one looks to have all kinds of potential.

IF i had seen the cash shop.. I would be a little scared that SONY really has no idea how to do F2P properly so people want to stick around... IF I had seen it. Which makes me nervous cause it is a good game.
 
Ehh, they claim that you only have to pay for "side-grades" and cosmetic things. I suppose we'll have to wait and see if they stay true to that.

If they don't stay true to that, it will be disastrous for them and the franchise.
 
Sony has several games with cash shops. They all pretty much require you to buy stuff if you want to use all of the content. Will that roll over to PS2? Its a wait-and-see thing.
 
Hopefully they do it right and not like Tribes:Ascend (which I do love). I just do not agree with how they have set theirs up. I get the free to play thing and that there is more money in that than there is in selling your game for a one time fee... but if it takes someone 60-80 hours of playing to unlock an item they want or a new class, then at the end of the day, your going to spend money on it so you can enjoy more of the games content or you will get bored with it and move on, unless your a masochists.

Anyways, hopefully SOE will do the game justice, it looks amazing, pretty stoked about it.
