So if you want to play with one another and don't want to start from scratch here is a working mod for online games:
Borderlands 2 Save Editor (Revision 155)

  • Bug fixes and updates to game info (“Psycho Pack”, “Loot Chest 2″, “Poker Night at the Inventory 2″ DLCs) for the current Borderlands 2 patch (1.5.0).

Download.
Known problems:
  • Eridium in-editor will show up to 99, the rest is stored in a new value that’s not handled yet.
  • Expansion playthrough number and playthrough completions are also stored in a new value that’s not handled.

Setting a character's level

In the 'General' tab, type in the level you want the character to be in the 'Experience Level' field, and then click on the 'Sync' button of the 'Experience Points' field to automatically compute the appropriate Experience Points for that level.

Unlock all 4 weapon equip slots

  • Go to the 'Bank' tab, then click on the 'New Item' button.
  • In Type, select GD_StorageDeckUpgrade.A_Item.INV_SDU_WeaponEquipSlot (near the bottom of the list)
  • In Balance, select: GD_ItemGrades.StorageDeckUpgrades.ItemGrade_SDU_WeaponEquipSlot
  • In Manufacturer, select: GD_Manufacturers.Manufacturers.Stock
  • Keep the rest of the fields untouched.
  • Repeat the above to add another weapon equip slot SDU (Storage Deck Upgrade) or right-click the created item and then select 'Duplicate', to add a total of two SDUs (to unlock the remaining locked two weapon equip slots)
Then, in the game, go to the Bank and retrieve the Weapon Equip Slot SDUs. Retrieving an SDU will unlock a weapon equip slot. The SDUs won't appear in your inventory. Note that in True Vault Hunter Mode, you can access the Bank near the start of the game at Claptrap's Place, Windshear Waste.

Unlock True Vault Hunter Mode

Go to the 'Raw' tab and set PlaythroughsCompleted to 1.

Currently I have a legit level 5 sniper dude. But when the 25's come out to play I also have a level 25.

This disgusts me.

Pussies :)

Actually the cool part here is you can even make your own guns. I won't do that but for single player fuck around it might be fun to make your own shit.

If THAT disgusts you you should check out the cheats you can USE in multiplayer games haha. Unlimited ammo, no reload, run speed, epic drops... and they all work. I was trying out a bunch of different ones to get the best leveling one so I could play with anyone at anytime.

Man who the fuck are you people and didn't you TOO grow up in the days of GAME GENIE!?!?

I dunno for me and this being a game where ya just wanna play with friends and is ultimately a diablo grind fest, upping your level to your friends doesn't really mess with much at all, specially for those who have higher level characters but want to play with the lower levels and not mess up the games.

So I am a pussy because I would rather enjoy the game? I might be biased because I think Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are great games and I enjoy the work Gearbox put into it, story and all. No I never used Game Genie, nor do I ever use cheats, unless I have completely beaten the game up and down and I am simply screwing around.

I can see the merit of boosting levels just to play the game with friends... And tbh, there really isn't any form of "competition" in the game, just playing it for the sake of playing it.

But I'd still rather play through it for the enjoyment and humor.

And let's admit it. Unless we either all play level 1's with tristan, he won't spend the time to actually level up to us. So it's either scrap our characters or let him cheat his. lol

Who is to say my appreciation for their game is not the same as yours just because I decide to use a cheat or not?

Am I ruining the experience for anyone else?

I am pretty much only effecting myself and my gameplay.

I watch my dad turn on the infinite ammo hack on most his games because he enjoys the story but hates to get freaked out on ammo count.

It is like my hatred for timed games, if there is a timer I have to turn off the sound, does it mean I hate the sound designer? It just means I prefer to play it a different way.

With a game like this, I don't feel like you are ruining anything by using a cheat that brings you into the game more or allows you to progress with friends where there is no system to allow for it like say GW2 buddy system. Now turn on the aimbots and the wall hacks in CoD or BF3 and that is a different story.

Does anyone else find it amusing he's calling the anti-cheaters pussies?

Oh I never meant it was ruining my gameplay, its just my opinion

I am feeling spunky today! Hit back! :)

Also I have yet to hear any arguments as to why my using this is so wrong, other than a strange perception of "cheating".

Man this should be in rants it's gettin' so randy!!!! RAWRRRR[DOUBLEPOST=1369153265,1369153162][/DOUBLEPOST]

But that is the thing, you say that as if I am not. I said above, I have my character that is now 5, and then a character that can be whatever level everyone else is at. How does this ruin the humor and enjoyment of a playthrough when I have a character for that? :)

It's MORALLY WONG! No but really, I've personally had experiences where I've played a good game and messed with things here and there and it just destroys the whole experience. It's like hitting cap in an MMO in a day or being handed everything, kinda like GW2. No matter how expansive it is, it dies out because nothing was "earned".

You said it disgusts you. I was curious as to why, you also said it ruins the story and such... but I gave you examples of it not. So is it just a pre-determined state of mind on the subject? Is there really no wiggle room when it comes to any type of cheat per-say?

Because by jumping levels you miss out on a bunch of things that happened in the game prior to that? Usually the feel of a game is something that builds momentum, you're just jumping halfway into it.

I dunno, see I enjoy having a lot to build more, for instance UO, private servers were great when you could max level because leveling was a grind, and afk macroing was not rewarding whatsoever yet it was really the only way to progress. Once you hit that max you were good to START the game. But that is OLD school.

I agree with the modern day MMO cap being hit without effort would be shitty, wouldn't want that because you don't learn your class, enjoy the massive worlds, and miss majority of storyline quests.

Disagree about a game dying out due to certain cheats though. If I am say using an infinite ammo cheat in BioShock, I still get the experience of the game and the chance of death, I just don't have to worry about clicking every drawer or bar to search for ammo. I can actually sit back and enjoy the FLOW of the game more. Focusing on story, characters, and interactions. I still get the full game experience and it takes away nothing that was "earned".

Yet you can do this in games like AoC and also to be Wildstar with the apprentice system. You can level up to go play with friends. In a game where majority is grind, and story can be played through on your own, when playing with friends to just Play and enjoy one anothers company, how does this ruin the game? What if you already played through the game, and just want to level down to join them. What if you plan to play through the game on your own and still want to play with your friends who are much faster? I still miss the "ruins the game" part.

What? Doesn't Wildstar just scale higher level people down? Not lower people up? That wouldn't work, it would completely fuck up questing.'

But anyways, getting back to BL2 (since that's what this whole argument was about). If you're jumping halfway through the game to play with other people that don't want to do all the low level shit they've already done, you're still missing a big portion of it regardless. That's all the point was. It's a fact, you can argue about how you'll still enjoy it until everyone in the conversation is blue but you're still skipping shit, that's all I was saying. Enjoying the game still or not.
