Borderlands 2 - Save Game Edit so you can play together

Yeah I suppose I don't see skipping some of it to play with the rest as a game breaker for me personally. Specially when I can go back and play the content when I want on another character. But yeah semantics at this point.

Also yeah I thought I heard wildstar was doing a level up thing. Age of Conan did it news pretty cool actually. Will have to look into it more.

What? Doesn't Wildstar just scale higher level people down? Not lower people up? That wouldn't work, it would completely fuck up questing.'
There is a kick up in certain situations. The minimum level for a dungeon may be 17, but it is actually a level 21 dungeon. You will be scaled up to level 21 joining that instance, but you must at least meet the minimum level requirement to do so (can't just join as a level 1). This will help a larger range of people playing each dungeon, so it will "fill the gaps" for people that really want to run only dungeons or just really love grinding dungeons.

Same with PvP (Battlegrounds). There will be brackets (example 10-19). if you are 10, you'll be scaled to 19, but only have the abilities of a level 10. join at 15, you'll be scaled to 19, but only abilities of 15, etc. etc.

You can't scale up in open world, only those two situations. No scaling up for raids, warplots, or arenas.

The scale down (mentoring) system can be used at any time. You can scale down to anyones level in your party and enjoy gameplay on their level, but still having all your abilities. (level 50 scaling down to 30 will have decreased power, but same abilities as your 50).

Actually I did know about that PvP part of things, just a lot going on.. Mom and sister are currently in flight up here to stay for a week+. But yeah, as long as quests and open world aren't involved there's no real harm with that.

For the record, you can still join your friends in BL2, even if they are higher or lower level than you. The game's difficulty scales to the host character's level (except in "Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode" or UVHM - that's where the enemies' levels scale to the character with the highest level).

Completing missions that your character hasn't unlocked yet won't let your character make any progress in the game. You're running along with the group, but you're not actually getting any missions done on your character. So if you edit your level 1 character and make him level 25, you'll still have to play the game from the beginning, else you won't be making any progress joining other level 25-ish groups.

Now you're thinking: "So what, I'll just keep joining my friends' groups anyway, my character doesn't need to progress."
This will be a problem if your friends venture into endgame territory, as you need to beat the game twice and be level 50 to unlock the UVHM.
Of course I'm sure there's a cheat out there that will let you circumvent this, but that would be another cheat on top of the level editing... and then where does the cheating stop? "Oh, since you guys have actually been playing to level up your characters, you've found all kinds of awesome gear - I've leveled my character up with the editor, so I don't have any cool stuff. Hang on, I'll just create my own guns with this mod... nobody will notice anyway."

To be honest, I'd much rather "go back" with one of my characters and help you level your lower level character.

For me, using any cheats or boots really kills the game. Every time I had a game where I put in the cheat I just lost interest in the game after a session or 2.

Even in Don't Starve where you can change the difficulty on each individual thing I keep it to default because I don't want it to be harder and making it easier feels like cheating. That game has some high consequences (permadeath)

Meh I don't mind :) I enjoy finding loop holes in games however this above was just for levels. Diablo and the plate of the whale!!! Oh the memories. Shit a cheat got true black dye into Ultima online back when.

I've used them, but I lose interest if I do. I could possibly see using the level hack to play with friends on bl2, but I wouldn't touch the other stuff. If it didn't ruin the games for me I would totally use em.

Or use the save game program I linked.
Not gonna lie, I did do this. I copied my 26 commando and changed the class to the assassin. No extra guns, weapons, or money, just a copy. Now I can play with the same progression with two different groups and not have to replay the starter levels again.

Once I go through the game I'll probably use the tool. doing the missions over is boring.

Bruce I am disappoint.

I bought BL2 just because of this. I owned it on Xbox and wanted to play with everyone, but didnt want to level up again.

I now have a lvl 50 gunzerker. The Vault Hunter Mode thing isnt working though, I'm stuck on my lvl 2 quest. Fixed
