Special thanks to: Simeon, bordot, Mattspire, ZeiMyName, Synvilla, Zygorian, Cassium Vanderbilt, Washi and others from this thread.

"SPOILER" WARNING: A lot of the joys of Cooking (and Guild Wars 2 in general) come from discovering stuff for yourself. Cooking is a fun craft on its own, but this guide has tried to minimize the effort, cost and bag space required to quickly grind Cooking to 400.

I haven't included the exact number of materials required as it varies per person, depending on luck (bonus experience on "criticals"), or if you're using a Craft Booster. This guide assumes you know how Renown Hearts and karma work, and that you already know how crafting in general works. For a great video tutorial on crafting basics please visit Enigmius' Guide.

looks pretty useful!! but some of those areas for the vendors seem pretty high lvl... or is it just me?

I used this beautifully. 10 levels, maybe 1 gold, and 1k karma? chaching!

I will make you all tasty treats!

And yes there are 3 60ish zones you need karma vendors from.

They fixed this somewhat. From what I read on reddit you can't buy butter and chocolate. You have to hunt the items you can't buy or buy them on the trading post.

An update to this, they removed chocolate bars and butter from the master chef vendor. I am not sure where/if they are purchaseable anymore but I think Anet is definitely trying to throw a wrench in the relative 'ease' of cooking skill.

I read on Guru today that ANet removed basically everything used in this guide and others from vendors and relegated it solely to mob drops. So, Bruce should be happy?

The following Cooking Materials are no longer sold for Karma and are now acquired through drops, gathering nodes, or loot bags: Butter, Chocolate, Vanilla, Chili Peppers, Thyme, Black Peppercorns, Cinnamon, Bay Leaves, Walnuts, and Oranges.
