ArenaNet made crafting so enjoyable in this game. From the plethora of nodes that you don't have to fight over with other people, to the fact that you don't lose experience when switching to a different crafting expertise, I'm really looking forward to getting into crafting (even more so then I did during the beta events). The one downside: my "must gather materials" OCD will kick in really often. Zhaitan could be leading an invasion and I wouldn't even notice if there was a gathering node anywhere on my minimap.
